  4. The Evotech Quad lock mount looks a bit ugly but does the job.

  6. Bike mag have just tested the V2 against the Tuono, S1000R and MT10

I’m surprised they scored it in last place , though I do agree with them about some things.
I was toying with a V2 myself until I rode one.
I’ve got a bad back with buggered discs and I found the bike very uncomfortable and the suspension , for me , was awful.
So that’s off the list .
Shame , as it looks great .

  7. How strange, as I’ve got 3 prolapsed discs and a torn disc, and I actually don’t find it too bad. Much more comfortable than the V4, and BMW S1000R.

  8. I've got Arthritis in my lumber spine and a compressed vertebrae. My SF V4S is well comfortable with comfort saddle. Leaning forward onto the bars a bit takes the weight off my spine. The Diavel 1260S I had, I used to feel road bumps on my spine and at times bloody hurt!

  9. The best opinion is your own. Test the ones you like the look of and decide yourself. Simples.

  10. I rode a SFV4S and it was very comfortable ,but the suspension on the V2 seems mush harsher and I hated it.

  11. Why is that strange ?
I’ve also got 3 prolapsed discs, but they just might not be the same ones as you.
We’re all different and I found the V2 hideously uncomfortable.
I seem to recall you saying similar on your first ride, until you suddenly got used to it.
I was more surprised that Bike mag rated the V2 last out of the four bikes tested, but could understand why they complained about the ride,as I have similar issues.
Such a shame as I could have seen myself buying one.
I can’t stretch to a SFV4S but that bike for me is in a different league to the V2.
Obviously the motor is ballistic but it seems to float over bad surfaces where the V2 crashes, and the OE seat on the SFV4S is probably the best standard seat of any bike I’ve ever ridden.

  12. get the suspension set up to suit your weight by a pro who knows what they’re doing.

  13. It’s strange that we both have major back problems, yet one finds it uncomfortable and one doesn’t. Don’t take my comment personally.

I just couldn’t gel with the V4. Saying that, the only time it was comfortable was at higher speeds, but then that put additional strain on my neck.

I’m not bothered about what any reviewer thinks, as I bought the bike before anyone had ridden it, and am loving every ride on it, which is all that matters. I have played with the suspension on mine, did you adjust it on the one you rode?

  14. I guess back problems manifest themselves in different ways.
I’m pleased you’ve gelled with your bike.
You kind of know when a bike is right and unfortunately the V2 is definitely not for me, or my back.

  15. Raised rider seat arrived today, and it’s a lot plusher. Doesn’t seem to be any higher than the stock seat.

  16. Be interested to see how that seat works out. My last bike was a Supersport which has the most comfortable seat ever. Other than that, the Steetfighter is more comfortable for me.

Re the test, I find it odd that the SF is criticized for not being user friendly for day to day round town use. Surely nobody buys a Streetfighter for its commuting prowess!

I agree the suspension is a little harsh, but that will settle a bit during run-in & then easily adjusted if necessary.
