what is the opinions on selling a bike with extras like oz wheels, seats, levers, etc as one unit, does it make the value of the parts plus the bike. or put the hours in and put all the standard parts back on. anyone done it recently
Always (nearly) better financially to break and sell. Unless it’s a classic and low miles/mint/collectors type bikes. Bit does mean you tend to be left with awkward stuff: loom, switches, cables… Personally, I have sold bikes under value to get rid simply because I couldn’t be bothered to break and broken others and made enough over what the entire bikes was worth to throw stuff away I couldn’t sell unless it’s one of these chines bikes….you’ll get more in scrap
its a 959,didnt really want to start putting the standard parts back on as the whole thing works quite well as is. but i kind of thought seperating would bring in more
In my experience remove all accessories and put it back to standard, if you have the parts, time and ability. Then sell them on here
Tasty aftermarket items will sell if you price them well. Probably easier to find 20 people with £200 to spend than one guy who will buy a bike and an additional £3K of extras? But a well kept bike with goodies might also sell if its priced well. If you aren't in a hurry to move it on, why not put it on Ebay, here and wherever else as it is for the price you want? What the worst that could happen?
If you want top dollar, or anything more than a standard bike, it’s a very small pot of buyers ime. Ironically, the majority buyers won’t pay more for a bike with bits but will then go and spend more on getting the bits and fitting.
Recent experience - dealer offered me the same price with or without the extras, so I took them off before sale and got an extra £1k selling them separately.
