Price is about right for me, although lovely it’s not a patch on the later E750 overall and some bits even more unobtainium/ expensive than later models.
That's always the way in life, a bit like if you've got one girlfriend & then another one comes along, Lol
That's been up for a while, really suprised it hasn't gone. The Elephant models seem to have a small narrow fan base. Think the 1990 900ie is the one to really have, but only made 1000 numbered bikes & were closet thing to winning dakar bikes.

Just as a side note the "upside down" forks on 900 carb bikes are vastly better than above but impossible to find now unless knackered as are so sought after.
998s i've not read the advert but looks ok. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185463768718?hash=item2b2e80868e:g:gCUAAOSwzDBieY9u
100% in agreement with you my old fruit, perhaps he dropped the thing like i nearly did once beforehand hence why the mods have been attached.
I've the first model, but don't forget that the 916 ran from 1994 to 1998 before the 996 upgrade period.
It's not a stock bike unfortunately for collection trainspotter values, but it has many correct period upgrades from that period, so perhaps it does standout from the crowd afterall for a selected few folk only.
Monster SR2 800, looks very clean. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234601617491?hash=item369f589853:g:C~8AAOSwggFitwsV
