1098 jumping out of first gear

  1. A couple of times on a recent trip my 1098 jumped out of first gear when pulling off, is this a common problem (or feature)?

  2. Not common, but the gear linkage may have slipped out of adjustment. Needs the alternator cover off to check though.

  3. Thanks. I should add the gearing is reverse shift.

  4. horses mouth ^ (i.e. nelly)

  5. Is the linkage working ok? Tried it as a conventional shift at all?

  6. The linkage seems fine, I just reversed the arm on the selector spline. I'll set it to standard and try, it'll take a while for my head to readjust to road shift.
