Yes I confess I was. Should be good once they're on there. I could but they are not to everyone's taste, so I always like the option to revert to standard in the future. I'm gagging to ride it, but 1.5 tons of type 1 hard-core right outside the garage and a driveway that resembles the Somme is putting pay to that, until the new driveway is laid, which will be later this year.
Good idea. For me I much prefer the standard ones. They are the only bit on your bike (or will be) I don’t like.
Yes, potentially contraversial, hence why I have the OEM ones to hand if I ever want to switch back. They look a lot better on the bike, than in isolation however.
I've made a couple of quick PS mockups (not the correct forks in these images) of my potential route. White lettering and polished stainless steel bolts OR black lettering and black titanium bolts. I will have to see once I get the calipers, how each looks, with the aid of some digital fenagling. The first option is really a nod to the fact that it will tie in with the lettering on the bodywork, the latter is less "in your face", if that is possible with red calipers. The colour of the calipers is not true to form, but it gives me an idea of how they will look for now. Whilst these are Stylema calipers, the only difference they bear to the OEM ones is that the logo is stencilled on and not part of the casting, which would have made changing the colour of the lettering easier (If I go down that route, but my painter says it's an easy mod with the correct high temp paint naturally). I am on the fence until they arrive.
Just spoken to my painter and he is ordering in some special high temperature white paint and high temp clear coat as he is confident he can simply paint a mirror stencil over the existing lettering in white and clear coat over that, saves repainting each whole caliper which would be a LOT more expensive.
The caliper bolts, are they shiney black chrome or that matt black node head type bolt? If the latter, I likey. I like former too but latter would look engineered to me.
