Hi All: I am fully aware of supply chain issues affecting multiple global industries. I ordered a 2022 V2S, non-touring, at the start of May. At the time the dealership said the build date should during the last week of May. The dealership has confirmed the order is with Ducati. However there is no sign of the bike yet. I am enquiring if anyone has ordered a V2S this year and have received the bike. Or if you have not received it, how long have you been waiting. For those that were lucky to secure one off the showroom floor I salute you. I have heard that if the ordering the touring option you will definitely not see a bike anytime soon.
I was one of the lucky ones and managed to put a deposit on the V2s travel my dealer had ordered for stock. I didn't even test ride it and only read the reviews & youtube videos about it where they all said it was a great bike. I needn't have worried as they were right. It must be very frustrating having to wait so long for your new bike but it will be worth it when it finally arrives.
My dealer was saying that any ordered now will be towards the end of the year. V4S Multis are readily available, apparently.
Ordered end Jan and took delivery in March - was in stock at dealer One advertised on Ebay Ducati Scotland in Stock - but the low version.
Well Praise Be. Bike will be delivered to my home on August 25th. To recap the order was placed May 7th with estimated delivery June 15th. Four accessories were ordered: Engine Protection bars LED aux lights Heated grips Center stand The dealership tells me the heated grips are on back order and will be delivered at first service. Until I see bike the cynic in me is suspicious about the centre stand.
Hi All: Bike was delivered on Thursday 25 August .. as I suspected without a centre stand. I did know about the heated grips were on back order. So sometime in October the heated grips and centre stand will be installed. Sigh! Positive spin ... at least I have one. Original order date was May 7th.
How are you getting on with your V2s? I picked mine up in July and toured Spain/Portugal for three weeks. I have the high seat but find it uncomfortable.
The V2S has been good. The centre stand has been now installed. Heated grips are still outstanding. Probably will not see that till December or January. I have the standard seat ... have not complaints about the seat.
The heated grips are excellent and I’ve put the standard seat back on today after reading this. Hopefully I’ll get the chance to test it when these monsoon conditions go away!
After a year of ownership and ten thousand miles (mostly two-up touring) I can report that this is a superb bike with the bonus of consistently returning 60mpg. I stand by my comment about the seat though. I resolved it by removing the cover from the high seat and slicing a tapering wedge off the standard foam creating a wider and flatter rear. I then added a layer of softer foam which built up the front and is more sumptuous at the rear. Took it to an upholsterer for refitting of the cover and bingo - long distance comfort and visually looks standard
I was looking for a replacement for a Triumph Tiger 800 and test rode the V2S and Tiger 900GT. I felt the Ducati was a better bike, IMO Triumph have spoilt the engine on the 900 with the cross plane crank. The only thing against the V2S was the screen, I'm around 6ft 2in and it certainly generated noise even when in the highest position. Any comments on the optional taller screen? I've held back on ordering the higher seat for now until I get a chance to do some miles on the bike (it's not arriving until March '24).
I have a V2S and am 6ft 1in and found the standard screen noisy at all heights. I bought an adjustable cheapo (£20) wind deflector on Ebay that attaches to the top of the screen - surprisingly good quality for the price - and after a bit of fiddling with angles etc I'm pretty happy with the screen now. It's not perfect but certainly good enough for me.
