  3. Car MOTd. I’m vowing I will do 5k miles in it this year and not the about 200 I did in the last one!!

  4. Kicking myself  I have been talking about treating the track bike to a pair of OZ Racing wheels so I can put the lightweight Marchesinis back on the road bike. Yes, been talking about for far too long, last time I looked you could get a set for about £1700 ……. today on eBay, Biketorque are selling them for £2500 ! Bugger :( Andy

  5. Looking into how I can scrap my aged car at the end of the month AND get a little something for it. Need a cheap run-around or vanto tide me over, but 2nd-hand prices are bonkers! Have always had at least one 4-wheel vehicle for 45 years, so finding it weird to contemplate being without the convenience (bikes are just for fun - obvs!). This is the question of the moment - to car or not, as I'd like to do without...

  6. If you can live without the practicality of a car, then why have one. On the other hand, if you can’t, what’s wrong with the car you have ?

  7. Indeed - I'll probably go for doing without... Existing car is old diesel (upcoming Bristol clean-air zone no-no), will need too much ££ MOT work and frankly owes me nothing!

  13. A couple of years ago I bought a really nice Dainese, leather jacket. It's analine leather is really more fashion item than bike jacket. The idea was I'd use the textiles for longer rides and the leather jacket for popping into Edinburgh. I really like wearing it on hot days so, one roast toasty day, I wore it for a 300 mile blast through the Scottish countryside. When I got home it was covered in dried in, very dead flies. It was mingin' with them. Disgusting really. I tried cleaning it but nothing was working and I could feel the leather getting less supple so I stopped trying. Roll forward a couple of years and I was told about Renapur leather cleaner and conditioner/balm. I gave it a go today and the jacket is like new again.

  14. Mostly just melted today. Just walked the 400 yards to the local shop and it's now raining warm water here. Andy

  15. Then you get other leather manufacturing people saying don’t put anything on your leathers other than a damp cloth to wipe off the flies.

  16. Did some work, went to the gym, did some more work. Then made some epic chicken kebabs for dinner. Shame I don’t drink midweek, as a nice crisp white would have gone down a treat with them!

  19. You’re 100% right but I figured I’d fucked the jacket anyway so I gave it a go and I’m really glad I did.
