V4 2022 Panigale V4 Rizoma Bar Ends Query.

  1. Hello Gents, can anyone please shed some light if this is normal.
I have the Rizoma Ducati bar ends and the gaps from the grips are considerable.
The dealer assured me this is how they are supposed to be.
I have scoured the net looking for pics, read the instructions etc.. but nothing definitive.
Does anyone have or has seen this on a 2020, 2021, 2022 model to let me know if this is acceptable tolerances or not. The throttle side is not too bad. But the clutch side is horrendous. To me anyway.
I would greatly appreciate any help here as the dealer is adamant this is how it is.

  2. I have similar "gaps" with the Rizoma bar ends, but the clutch side on yours looks excessively wide. I just measured the gaps I have, and it is 6mm on the clutch side and 3mm on the throttle.

I was thinking about finding some sort of 6mm infill rings, but have no idea where to source them so I just got used to the gaps (perhaps it would ease my anxiety if I made them both 6mm....)

  3. I’m guessing you didn’t have this gap with the oem bar ends?

  4. The one you have on the clutch side is similar to the one I had on the brake side of my Speciale that incorporated the brake lever protector. If you zoom in on the handle bars, you will see what I mean. Andy

  5. Here is a photo of mine, also with the brake protector but that does not look to impact the gaps as the protector is part of the bar end (on the RHS of the red Rizoma bit)

  6. Why not simply reposition the grip closer to the bar end? A gap next to the switchgear is much less obvious and/or it’s a simply job to remove the mounting peg from the bar to reposition the switch block.

  7. It appears this is how they come. Stuliet, we basically have the same gap but mine has the extra black washer, where as yours hasnt.
Expat jack, thats the first thing I considered doing. The grips are the OEM ones and they do not budge. I was sure I was going to end up tearing them.
I will just have to wait until i wear them out and then split the gap between the switch block and bar end.
In all honesty, I think its a shabby extra from Ducati to sell us bar ends with gaps like that. Just my 2 cents

  8. Just for reference. This is my set up…

  9. yeah, thats how the Rizoma ones "should" be.
How come you have a domino grip on one side and a Pro Grip on the other?

  10. Bloody good question  It’s a 2018 track bike and it’s evolved :p

  11. so, once either one wears out, which one would you choose again to have? Can you feel any difference? Are you faster on Left handers or right???:thinkingface::thinkingface:

  12. Yours look like ProGrip ones to me not OEM. In any case if you want to replace the grips you can carefully run a scalpel along one edge and peel them off if they are that reluctant to move and replace them with something else. The gap on the clutch side looks excessively large. It might be the case that the OEM grips are marginally longer, so the gap may not be so pronounced. You could also make up some aluminium or 3d printer collars with the same ID as the OD of the bars and sandwich them in between (obviously leaving some gap on the throttle side so as not to foul the twist grip). You'd only need to tap a small hole for a grub screw, to secure them in place onto the handlebar tubes. Any local engineering company could knock a pair up for you. You could then either paint or have them anodised black.

  13. Thanks Topo, all new Panis now come as standard with progrips.
I havent seen any other ones since my 1299.

I have also considered getting collars to take up the gap. Either that or when the grips need replacing I will position them lower down and split the difference between the bar end and the switches.
