Super happy today. Finally got the chance to move the bike from the conservatory. Took it to Road and Race Performance in Verwood for a run in. Super happy with the power. Best one I’ve had. Nearly at what Ducati claim!
The season has already started with a win in the GB racing Military race championship. But Ducati Trioptions is nearly upon us! Currently not looking to do all rounds, want to go enjoy the tracks I want to race at. New design inbound and still space available If you want to be involved.
For those who follow my social media you’ll know how the season has started...or not. Having decided to pick and choose my favourite rounds, I missed Silverstone. But having watched the race live, with my previous pace and confidence, I could have been fighting for a podium! After seeing this I was well up for my favourite layout of Donington. The national layout really suits me and tend to go well. but it wasn’t to be. Whilst racing at Snetterton I had a fast 4th gear crash at Corams. I sustained a multiple of injurys. Don’t actually know what happened as I took a hefty blow to the head. Biggest injury that’s currently holding me back is a broken/displaced tuberosity. Basically fractured the head of arm into shoulder. I’m gutted to say the least. But all I can do is try and get myself and the bike back together and be out for World Superbikes in July. As you well know Ducati parts are expensive and the repair bill has wiped my bank clean. if you or anyone you know, who might be interested in some sponsorship. Please get them in touch. thanks
Well the bike is going back together. But you all know how expensive they are…. So selling some bits. Got done EBC discs here and more to follow https://www.ducatiforum.co.uk/threads/ducati-899-959-v2-ebc-gold-discs.91823/#post-1978050
So last week I should have been at World Superbikes WorldSBK Onboard my Ducati UK Racing V2 in Ducati Trioptions Cup. Here she is ready to go. As you’ll have known I had a big accident few months ago now and then have since also lost my mum unexpectedly. The body and mind isn’t ready to race just at the moment. But I am trying to get back out, when the time is right and do all my sponsors and supporters proud. Thank you all for continued support on and off the track #iwillbebackstronger #ducatitrioptionscup
I’m certain many of the people who post on this forum will echo @Advikaz’s post and send you their condolences and hopes for a better future at this hugely difficult time. Andy
Sorry to hear about your loss Spence, she will have been proud of you no doubt, stay strong mate and when thats too hard, talk to someone, anyone, hell, even me if need be ... Dibs
20k for Bike on cheap end, 15-20k tyre bill, entry fee (don't know how much, can't be less than 5k though), test entries which are extra and expensive, crash damage, fuel which is BSB fuel, transport, food, oil, pads, filters, engine refresh etc. Can see how it can get close to the 100k mark
Those figures were bottom end ish figures when I was aware of the costs in 2019. Bet they’ve gone up considerably now ! scary huh
Skys the limit really I guess depending on how seriously you want to take it. A superstock bmw will cost you what, 50k+ from Alpha ? You can probably still build a kwak or Suzuki for 25/30k maybe less if you know the right people. As you say though, once you factor in all the less obvious costs, the budget gets a drilling.
