  1. On a trackday this morning at Croft second session and engine let go big time totally gutted
    .
Punched 2 holes in the casing, smashed the clutch plates etc , suppose I should be thankful it didn’t kick me off but looks like it’s going to be an expensive one .

    new engine needed haha

  5. Thanks bud ,
I’ll have a look and drop you a message .

think the financials might be abit stretched at the minute though so might take me a few weeks to get sorted

  6. June 17th 2022 - blimey, could be the perfectly timed marriage! :upyeah:

  7. Blimey - that’s done itself good and proper!
Glad to hear you are ok though - could have been nasty.

  8. Very glad you weren't "kicked off". Hopefully and new engine will come along at a fair price to sort it...

  9. Thanks for the words lads , yeah all OK,
Luckily I was up straight when it let go rather than banked over. The rear wheel was drenched in oil so 100% I would have been off if I had been cornering.

  10. Ouch. Well done for staying on.

  11. That's not nice, thank the lord you escaped unscathed.
Any indication something was wrong like rattles, juddering or smoke?
I only ask because I hear and feel things on track that make me think something is up.

  12. absokutkey nothing, the engine felt really strong before it let go, I’ve had engines blow before and there’s usually some sort of indication but this just went bang suddenly no dip in power no rattles nothing

  13. Not a pretty sight. Glad you stayed on the bike though. Good luck with sourcing a replacement engine.

  14. Hard to tell what’s actually failed first but I managed to pull out some of the oil pump from inside the engine. Also removed the clutch casing and found the timing chain snapped.

    oh the joys

  15. Would be interesting to know what went first, certainly made a mess.

  17. good chance oil pump disintegration was at the heart of this, as (generalising) unusual on any engine i've dealt with as normally a drive pin or equivalent incorporated to shear first.

  18. My pals pani R did a similar thing with no warning.

Clutch basket let go on his and imploded the engine.
