  1. Hi everyone ive set about changing the nuts n bolts on my new (old) lol 996

stainless & some titanium ! im in 2 minds. I like the original gold passivation fixings but they all look tired now

What do you think ? Im off to the IoM next friday so i havent really got time to get the old ones plated n back on the bike.

Also what are your thoughts on the carbon swingarm covers ?

    Cheers Paul.

  2. add weight, do not aid performance apart from appearance they form no useful function

  4. Until you slide it down the road swinger side down, then they perform their intended function!

  5. +1, also nothing looks worse than crusty old fixings on a Duke, i've got a 6 month old big traily which is covered in shite from a lakes trip last weekend which will get a wash when i get round to it but the Duke is alway kept clean cos its that sort of bike.

  6. I was talking about unsightly bolts !!!!

As for weight very little or no difference ...... considering your going to sit on top of it

  7. Hi Paul,

You were also asking about carbon swingarm covers......

    Remember!

  8. If you like the swingarm cover then bung it on,its your bike.Ive got one.As for your bolts, change them to stainless, keep the old ones safe and when you get back if you must put them back on,get them replated.
