  1. My bad! Some days it's not worth chewing through the leather straps... :confounded:

  2. I got an answer from Marvic on the color code. I will post it over in the Marvic thread which I started so that it shows up for people who search! Apologies for confusing this thread with my questions...

  3. no need to apologise, your post makes sense now - it's all related, and thanks for helping others with paint code. :upyeah:

  4. I spent months looking for used gold Marchesini wheels for my 998... I had no luck, so I ended up finding a set of Marvics.

And wouldn't you know it: last week on Facebook I saw two different sets of gold Marchesinis for sale. FML :D

  7. Sorry to Hyjack - There's Currently a pair of Gold 5 spoke magnesium ribbed Marchesini's on the bay (if i knew how to cut and paste i'd post a link!) i have been hovering over the BIN button for them - can anyone tell me definitively if they will fit my 97' 916 Bip? and is what is asked for them a fair price?

  9. The front spokes are quite heavily corroded but Steve wouldn’t have refurbished them if he thought they were gash. I don’t think they are worth the asking price, fewer and fewer around because they age badly. Andy

  10. Yes ,that's them ,thanks Andy.

  11. Price is very fair. I recently picked up a set in the US, 20 year-old tires, needed to be refinished, for around that price. These were inspected and refinished by the magnesium expert himself, and have good tires already.

The ribbed back were always the “street” version (versus the “race” version) so they will 100% fit right on your bike.
Only concern would be the crazing on the front wheel, but I’m pretty sure that TPCS would take a look at them and fix if needed at a reasonable rate since they refurbished them so recently.
