I'm looking for some spare parts for Showa Adjustable forks. In reality all I need is @500mm long 50/54mm Sliders in reasonable condition, they don't need to be perfect. And just the outer part of the top cap to fit them, as below: I'm happy to buy complete pairs of forks I can strip these parts from if they are cheap enough. That pair of ST2/3/4 forks with rusty chrome stanchions you keep tripping over in your shed would be ideal the ideal donor, but must be cheap. Thanks
There were actually a pair in really good condition which made a good price for her, far too good for me to rob for parts.
You sir are a gentleman indeed. Coincidently I recently bought some for my VFR The originals would not adjust as they presumably had corroded inside -brass & aluminium accident just waiting to happen. Always keep them well oiled.
Bumpty Bump, still looking, but looks like I'll end up buying a serviceable set on Ebay to strip, which would be a shame.
Thanks Countcoupe, I'd discounted then early on, but you are right, the caps will be useful if nothing else. Unfortunately not, 749/999 is 53/53mm yoke fitting not 50/54.
