So , here we go, picked up this beautiful beast on Thursday morning after part exchanging both my 2018 Triumph Speed Triple RS and Ninja 1000sx. View attachment 275980
Have been collating some accessories over the last week as follows: Ducati crash bars and engine guard - looking to have powder coated black Evotech fork protectors Evotech sat nav bracket - I use the Tom Tom 550 rider and want it mounted above the LCD display Givi Tanklock ring - I have used a 5l tanklock bag for years on all bikes Oxford Pro Stretch indoor cover (in red of course) - nothing scares me more than cement dust in a garage scratching paintwork and I couldn’t justify the price of an official Ducati one I have never been a huge fan of topboxes despite their obvious uses , preferring to have panniers and then usually a Kriega bag strapped to pillion seat, but , Mrs Ducati Dave has expressed an interest in pillion riding as long as there’s a back rest so I have been investigating the adapter plate and a Givi top box, again , cannot justify an official Ducati top box, which I believe are made by Givi under licence anyway ♂️ Hoping over the weekend to get out and put some mileage on the bike. Stay safe & have fun guys
Iconic parts do an adaptor plate that will take a givi box. You will just need to buy a bag of the Givi fitting bolts to attach the box too.
I like that colour scheme, apart from the Black Ducati logo on the grey, would have looked better in white IMHO. Enjoy the bike, lucky to get hold of one?
It looks great. God, I miss my Mutley, a 2010 S. If I was just a couple of inches taller I'd probably still have one. I lived in fear of dropping mine and, though I never did, it was a fear that was always there. Took the shine off owning it.
I totally get it … I am 5ft 10in with a 29inch inside leg ! My bike currently has the lower seat fitted and preload to minimum plus the new software update …. I am on the balls of my feet vertically over the bike but, I am Trying to learn the technique of stopping with right foot down flat and then setting off by engaging first gear and throttle on/front brake release. Totally confident at a standstill but after 37 years of stopping with right foot on back brake and then the shuffle to engage first it may take a while to re-learn
yes I wouldn’t disagree with that … interestingly, the nice stitching on the riders seat is because I have the heated low rider version which isn’t on the standard version.
I'd consider the Iconic GPS mount over the Evotech one. It fits like the new OEM mount and seems better thought out imho
I normally go Evotech on everything, but for the satnav mount I’ve gone for the Iconic. It’s very good quality.
You will also need this to fit a Givi topbox to the rack. https://www.xlmoto.co.uk/motorcycle..._pid-PIA-150523?nosto=is-pdp-brand-cross-sale
Great ride out to Lake Bala last Thursday … 234 miles …. Averaged 44mpg in touring mode with Sports mode engaged for the mountain twisties ! Loved the bike, very comfortable, the weight disappears as soon as its on the move, heated grips/seat worked a treat and on the shortish motorway blasts the adaptive cruise control was great when following my pal in the lead …. All very promising so far
So …… ordered the Iconic SatNav bracket which is currently on backorder … also Iconic topbox rack plus E115f GIVI fitting kit and off a well known auction site last night I picked up a GIVI 30l Dolomiti black aluminium topbox ….. tracker being fitted tomorrow too
