OK - I give up - where is the coolant drain on the 2019 Diavel 1260? Is there one? Been looking for the nut with the copper crush washer and give up...is this bike more of a detach the coolant lines and drain / flush?
This was discussed on the Diavel forum https://www.diavel-forum.com/threads/where-is-the-drain-plug-of-the-coolant.88391/ Having read it, some have it and some do not. Bottom hose off job.
Thank Chris - read through that one too as part of my research - can't believe there isn't a drain? The workshop manual (for the "diavel" without respect to any particular model it appears there could be a drain - see: https://www.dudiavel.com/changing_the_coolant-187.html In particular the third photo with the 4...I don't see that kind of pump outline on my 2019 Diavel 1260 - even that would be helpful - where's the pump?
So I found the radiator drain - quite obvious actually - gold screw (see parts catalog image attached) which drains about a pint through a tiny hole.... After studying the catalog, I don't see anything that resembles a coolant drain from the engine block - was hoping to find it at a low point in the engine - besides this gold screw, there are no copper washer nuts crying to be loosened (except the oil of course). Attempted to drain from hose 22 connection to radiator, and while some trickled out of the radiator (especially when forced with air), yet, failed to comprehend that the impeller is blocking all flow from the engine casing and therefore nothing will get passed it. Could it be that I need to run the engine while draining and / or simultaneously flushing and do the same while filling with new coolant? If so this will be a blast because the filler cap is buried under the gas tank requiring a complete removal, but connected, so the engine will run.
