V4 '18 V4 Snapped Mirror Removal

  1. Hi All,

So after 3 careful years of ownership I've finally managed to snap the left mirror arm on my Panigale V4

I don't want aftermarket mirrors as I've not seen any that I think look ok and they're all horrifically overpriced anyway, bar end mirrors are not happening and running without mirrors is a no-no for me, so as I've taken a chance on some Chinese replica replacement arms as Ducati won't sell the arms separately that I've found.

My question is this: how do you separate the mirror housing from the arm? It's definitely doable, and though I've not yet had a chance to really investigate, there doesn't appear to be an obvious method of removal. I've not found anything on the interweb about the removal process.

    Anyone got any pointers?

    Cheers

  2. I did mine a while back. It’s not hard. A little fiddly. You need to remover the glass first. Then the light and they it’s all pretty self explanatory. There is a plug in the unit that won’t fit through the original arm, the arm is broken already so just cut the plastic away so that you can get the plug through. The plug fit through the replacement arm just fine on my ones.

I’ve found the replacements to actually be nicer quality than the Ducati item

  3. Thanks Paul that's great!

How does the glass come out? I've seen some pictures that looks like it's been glued onto a plastic pad in the housing

  4. It pops out. It does have some adhesive on the back but it come off pretty easy

  5. Hey Paul how did you remove the signal bulb?

  6. Hey Fish - can you tell me how you removed the LED bulbs? I have the same issues, bought the stem parts, removed mirrors but bulb is tight.
