  1. OK so the refurb of my friends bike is done. New fairings have been purchased and installed. They are to replace his 'original' Troy Bayliss race style ones with the carbon fibre belly pan. My friend believes this to be an 916 SPS but I now believe it not to be a 'SPS' as it has no numbered plate on it which I think it should if it is a genuine 916 SPS. Please correct me if I am wrong with that assumption.

In any case, it has a number of carbon bits and pieces and all levers have been replaced by 'ISR' race style levers 20220825_163331.jpg 20220711_152222 (1).jpg and the brakes updated to AP racing calipers and discs. It has just been serviced and MOT'd and is for sale but I am not sure what it is worth. If anyone would like to advise me on it potential value I would appreciate it.

  2. It should have the P8 ecu under the seat unit plus twin injectors, you can also do a chassis check with your friendly dealer for peace of mind.

  4. Doesn’t look like one

  5. How do I tell a P8 ecu from any other one?

  6. Ducati-Oem-916Sps-P8-Ecu-Computer-Cdi-Magneti.jpg This is a P8 ecu.

  10. The engine management unit shown in your picture is a Weber Marelli 1.6M which is associated with single injector bikes. Andy

  12. Ok guys thank very much for confirming that it is not a 916. So my question is what is it as I have to advertise it and need to know what it is and what its worth. With so many mods, exhaust, suspension, levers, carbon bits and pieces it's a difficult exercise pricing it. If anyone is interested in buying it or can suggest a price it would be appreciated. It's just been fully serviced, had new kush drives fitted and has a 12 months MOT. Thanks Peter

  13. What does the V5 say? If it’s 916 the engine number will have “916” in it - if 996, well, you get the picture.
Also, check it physically on lower left hand side of engine.

Mods don’t add that much to the price, especially if there’s so many that it’s origins are in question (rebuilt from damaged etc).

  14. Thanks Rick. The owner has the V5 and I am waiting on him to send it to me. There is a sticker on the frame that says ZDM916S so I guess its a 916 S.

  15. Whip the LH fairing off - takes seconds - have a squint at the engine number.

As always, very sensible and comprehensive answer from @Sev , extra marks for extension answer.

  16. Thank you @Sev, great reply full of useful information.

  17. Worth anywhere between 4-10k depending on finding the right buyer and how desperate to sell imho.

  18. I can smell the hypocrisy, let me remind you @Sev ................single sided swingarm comes to mind.!:p

  19. OK so the 916 not a SPS has been rebuilt, serviced, mot'd and is ready for sale. Only problem is I don't know what it is worth. If anyone is interested in it before it goes on eBay etc. drop me a text and lets see if it what you want. 20220829_115329.jpg 20220829_115338.jpg 20220829_115347.jpg 20220829_115438.jpg 20220829_115444.jpg 20220829_115447.jpg
