  3. Speed yellow, always looks good on a 911 imo.
Saw same colour on a Range Rover when I was last home and it looked hideous. Like a big hazard yellow car crime…

  4. I had a canary yellow 911 E in 1979. Four matching frog eye fog lights and a whale tail. I was totally awesome until I had to replace the rear tyres. Cost the same as one month's salary back then, so sadly it had to go.......for £4k

  5. not necessarily.. I've just about completed my 964 restoration...matching numbers and authenticity is a must for top dollar.

The fact that this is a US body, yet it is RHD means it is devalued immediately..:(

  6. Tyres are roughly the same price now as they were 20 years ago. My mate had a 964 turbo in ~2002 and I remember him moaning at £250 a corner. My 991 would be about the same today.

  8. Don't go near it. The chassis number is for an early 70s car, before Porsche offered a full convertible. This means one of two things, that someone has 'fettled' the chassis number, which is effectively the identity of the vehicle, re numbering a newer bodyshell, to have an earlier chassis number, or that its an original early 70s tub, which has had a home grown roof chop...

If you are looking for a project, just start with something else.

  19. Forgot to say, the Cortina was an MOT failure, dodgy rear diff, dad paid £50 for it auction in 1983, £25 for new rear axle and mechanics drink, all in for £75.
