V4 What Next For The Multistrada?

  1. I'd settle for 40mpg! (regularly)

  2. Managed it once after someone YouTuber said it was possible.
It is if you stick it in urban mode and don’t wind the throttle too hard. But then I may as well get a V2 or Desert X which will do 50mpg even if ridden hard. I am considering it.
On a motorway run I have learned that urban mode is relatively frugal and it will accelerate quickly if required.

  3. Yeah, I was being slightly facetious. It is possible. Rather than mode, I've found speed to be a big factor. It doesn't seem to like going slowly (I'm guessing because it quickly overheats). Fuel economy seems much better when keeping speeds up, even if you do use a bit of throttle.

  4. Givi do 30l top boxes including a relatively flat option.

  5. Unfortunately anything over 115 on the 1260 and it starts to shake its head ……
Anyone tried it on the v4?

  6. Not a top box, but I’ve seen 160 on the GPS with a 35l SW Motech soft bag, which is the size of a top box. The bike was rock solid.

  7. Got a 56l and it's not a problem. Was at Silverstone ofc. Had the same box on the 1260 and it didn't shake it's head, but the front did go a bit light. I think the shape of the box makes a huge difference, not just the size. I think the official Ducati boxes seem to trigger the head shake more easily than others.

  8. Been watching the first rides on You Tube reviews. Two of the reviews regarding the rear cylinder deactivation below 3800 revs say that it it seamless while one of the reviews says it runs rough at these revs. Without riding the bike myself; only a test ride will tell. However I think that on most riding conditions you would be riding on two cylinders, and wonder if Ducati have done this to address criticism over fuel economy (which I personally don't believe is an issue) .

  9. If they have done this for the V4 Rallye, wonder why they wouldnt do the same for the other versions of the Multi???

  10. ......my '22 V4S could do with a reverse gear :)

  11. It's the Grand Tour version of the MTS. Apparently still with the small plastic tank from the regular V4s, not the larger aluminium one from the Rally

  12. Wouldn’t that be something! I’d love one of those but I bet it’d be the thick end of £30k

  13. Sign me up!!!!!!

  14. I had the same with a Kriega setup on my trip to Germany a few weeks ago… like you say, solid even at 155 on the autobahn. :motorcycleduc:

  15. I don't agree, mine certainly doesn't and hasn't, at least not to date......

  16. V4S all good :upyeah:

  17. Since we talking high speeds with luggages, what experiance do people have with ducati alluminium pannier and top box set on V4? In manual, they're putting on some silly limits.

  18. The only comment I have is that if you accelerate hard on a V4S with loaded panniers the front end gets very light and waves about before settling down again. With just a 30ltr top box on it was rock steady at three digit speeds on my private road :).

  19. Same here. Had my 1260 to over 150mph with panniers on, and my V4PP to 158mph on the GPS with the 42 litre soft bag on the back. Solid as a rock, on both occasions.
