(small) Bike Things You've Done Today

  1. Seven of us set off tomorrow on a 10 day trip down to Northern Italy, been trying to get this done since 2020 when it kept getting knocked back because of the Covid situation..
Going on the Kawasaki workhorse/tour bike, not the “Arse cooker” as my mate calls the Panigale :joy:
New tyres, pads and bikes serviced and she’s ready to Rock..

This is the approximate route we’re doing..

Mileage is gonna be 2,500 - 2,800 depending on exact routes we take, a couple of big days in there, day 2 is 375 miles.
Looking forward to it immensely, great bunch of lads, we laugh like drains from start to finish :joy: :upyeah:

  5. Waiting for my GP4RX calipers to turn up....bought them last week - still not here - allegedly going to be delivered today...one thing that galls me about tight arse ebayers....spend a grand on a set of calipers, pay 12 quid for the carriage and they still try to save fucking money on the postage...

  7. Totally agree about eBay, after 19 years on there I’ve finally had enough of it and won’t use it again. Too many problems with it and customer support is useless now.

  8. Resurrected a long ignored skillset to try and remedy an issue with the Monster (937) side stand. You get a shorter side stand with the factory lowering kit BUT (yes, a big but) with the rear pre load set for an 8 stone person, when you sit on the bike with the side stand down, the suspension compresses so much, the bike stands up vertical and tries to throw the bike over. The solution I came up with is to cut an inch out of the length of the original side stand, tap the inside diameter (conveniently M16 x .2) of both ends, insert 5" of M16 threaded bar for strength and MIG weld the seam. 3 coats of filler primer and 3 coats of satin black later, job jobbed :D Yes, it's not a factory finish but it's strong and does the job. 10. Spent nearly all day getting these new Spider WSS rearsets installed. Had to get a bit creative with the gear lever side but nothing which couldn’t be sorted. Paid an extra £80 odd quid over their normal range and took a gamble on their upgraded (bigger) bearings and wasn’t disappointed. Zero play in either lever. And they look the bollox too!

  14. Got something delivered from eBay. Part missing despite me asking if it was there prior to bidding and seller confirming it was.
A tad frustrating but he is sorting PDQ or I will throw toys out.

  15. I bought a seat from ebay recently and it arrived with a rip in it despite the seller saying it was perfect, long story short ebay ended up siding with the seller hence why I won’t use eBay anymore.

  16. Discovered that the bike isn't running quite right

  18. Took the mrs on the back of the scrambler down to the beach to watch the Red Arrows and a B-52 fly past.

She was a little apprehensive as I’ve no top box anymore for her to lean back on but aside from that she preferred it, more comfortable and not perched up above me.

Preferring the bar end mirrors to the standard ones too.
