McDuke is dead, may he rest in pieces.

  1. McDuke (my 749) was hit head on by a van on Sunday evening. I'm still here though with only three broken limbs, I feel pretty lucky. I've always joked that I could afford to change my bike but not be able to change my leathers, boots, helmet and all my other ducati gear, which isn't an issue now as the paramedics had to cut me out of my leathers. Not sure about another bike at the minute but if I do it will almost certainly be another ducati.
I've not met anyone from this forum in person, I'm just looking for some sympathy from people that understand what I've lost.

  2. oooh lots of sympathy coming your way

if it was his fault you can claim for your gear if you do get back in the saddle

i hope the injurys heal quickly and you get another to love soon

  3. get well soon bud, hopefully you'll be back in the saddle soon

  4. Thats really bad news! Hope you recover quickly and are back on another Duc soon

  5. Get Well Soon fella. Broken bones mend quicker than soft tissue damage so it's all good.

Hope you get a great claim settlement and bounce back better than ever.

  6. Get well soon! Sorry about the bike, but let's look at the positives, you're still in one piece (even if a bit broken), and you can replace the 749 with something a bit more pleasing on the eye! ;-)

  7. Dude that sucks, but glad you're still here to tell the tale. Heal fast and take it steady

  8. Glad you're still here to tell the tale :upyeah:

  12. Three broken limbs, eh? Sounds pretty nasty. You have everyone's sympathy. So what's the prognosis for recovery? And do you care to tell us how the collision happened?

  13. Sorry to hear your news. Hope you get mended soon!

  14. Glad you are here to tell of your woe, get well soon !

  15. So far I've just been given the standard six weeks for broken bones but there could be complications with nerve damage in my broken shoulder, which will need surgery within six weeks if it doesn't improve. In brief the van was coming round a left hand bend in a 30mph zone, lost control and skidded onto the other side of the road, just as I was approaching the bend in the opposite direction. With no time to react the impact speed would still have been close to 60mph (if he wasn't speeding). So I feel very lucky to have only recieved the injuries I have.

  16. Bloody glad you're here to tell the tale - that was a nasty one.

  17. Pleased you're still around. Bike is replaceable, you ain't!

  18. Claim for your riding gear from your home insurance. :upyeah:

  19. Get well soon dude hopefully u can claim enough for a new pani lol

  20. I'm not aiming that high......maybe just a second hand low mileage pani!
