848 Evo - Is It Original Or Just A Normal 848?

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by psousa, Sep 6, 2022.

  1. Hej! can you please help me sort out is this a real Ducati 848 EVO or just a normal 848? Screenshot 2022-09-06 at 13.13.07.png
the VIN is ZDMH600AAAB013332 and its strange the tank is plain red ( no black and white stripe) and the clutch cover is grey (instead of black)... can you guys help me sort out the truth? Thanks! Pedro

  2. Hard to say but front caliper and discs not what they should be. Hard to see if it has traction control and quickshifter. Levers look odd too.

What's the seller saying it is

Whatever it is it looks modified so not the one if you want standard

  3. got after market ohlins on the front, paint work is evo, but should have the bigger alloy tank.

  4. Colour scheme is Corse SE, the tank and clutch cover are, as you say, wrong and the front forks are not OE. Andy

  5. The when searching VIN number only says Model 848.. should it mention EVO?

  6. No but on the Uk v5c it may say Evo if it was an Evo but it's never a guarantee

  7. If you have time contact ducati with the vin

Someone here will have their email address. They are good at confirming bike identities

  8. The Brakes should be Brembo as well right?

  9. The standard Evo is diff to the Evo corse se. The later Evo corse se had the ally tank and stealth Matt colour scheme and looks hot as fudge

  11. With the amount of discrepancies listed by various members above, i would say its highly unlikely that its an EVO, why would anyone lower the specs rather than improve them.

  12. Its a bitza, not a limited run SE. Swing arm should be black, engine casings wrong colour, line of white band is wrong on fairing and
nose cone graphic wrong, tank wrong, traction control pick up is missing due to change of forks/brakes etc. The more you look, the more is wrong.

If you want limited edition look elsewhere. If you dont care, get bargaining for a good reduction in price.

  14. Great shout Chris, I always seem to forget the recall function to check a vin :upyeah: Andy

  15. Doesn’t seem to work for my 916 which has a 13 digit vin or am I missing something?

  16. I think they only have to cover free recalls for 10 to 15 years

  17. Oh, ok, thanks

  18. Off that VIN, it's a 2010 848, not an EVO or SE
