  1. No a fan of clear clutch covers but I personally think r&g products are proper tat and I would rather go without than adorn my bike with there shit, if you are using crash protection the gb covers are the way to go.

  7. Not sure if you’re asking me boots or someone that’s inexplicably blocked me :imp:

    But my retro fitted STM (OE on the V4R) works a treat on the slipper side. Obviously as a track bike it gets put through it’s paces on downshifting. It’s a physically big assembly. Noticeably bigger than the previous gen stuff. I guess clutches are all about surface area. The more of it there is, the more hammer they can take.

  8. No twas you stu. I wondered because i thought that was the purpose of EBC to do what a slipper does. To have both makes me wonder if its just doubling up for the same result. Plz correct me if im wrong or misunderstand it all.
     
  9. Your 1299 has both EBC and a slipper. The EBC dials in the “braking” assistance from the engine under deceleration. The slipper allows you to be ham fisted (or aggressive) with downshifts where without the slipper your downshift would cause the back wheel to momentarily lock.

  10. I had no idea it was a slipper, but of course it makes sense as I never asked myself HOW the EBC functions. Thanks. But now, what is the benefit of the dry slipper over my wet slipper?

    Edit: viscous friction....?

As above, EbC says whether the engine will be harsh (like a twin) or soft (like a 2 stroke) so off the gas it coats or brakes: the slipper works so if it detects locking (ie excessive engine braking) it kicks in. So you can have all the Nefertiti of heavy engine braking with the added safety net of the slipper regulating wheel lock up.

    May not be exactly the best description but it’s how I believe it works and the difference. Glad to hear my 1299 has both!

  15. Clear clutch covers, can’t stand them. In fact I hate them with a vengeance. I don’t know why exactly and each to their own. I suppose I find them ugly and unnecessary.
