Bit more work done today... Rear footpegs fitted, carb inlet rubbers fitted, sump fitted, headlamp assembly back on, coils stripped and associated alloy mounts along with the rear brake bar and assembly off to cerakoting.
Exhaust studs just turned up along with a stainless engine bolt for the rear of the motor. Hoping for the cerakoting to be complete by the weekend which means i can reconnect the rear brake, quite sure i can fit the exhaust (and not have to take it off again for any reason) and fit the coils....
Another day/afternoon in the garage today..rear brake fitted, exhausts studs fitted, gear shift fitted and the coils. Ill be at the point soon where im going to need the MUnit - might have to wait a little while for that...otherwise all good...
Looking at the big gap behind the inlets reminds me of the absolute arse of a job it was getting the carbs and airbox fitted.
Assuming i went that route anyone know of any standard jets that can be fitted (obviously theyre going to have to be bigger)?
It's the weekend again....more work done...keeping all the oem bolts....while I'm not using them they're gonna be stripped and replated....Chainguard fitted, internal mudguard fitted, clutch cable in....exhaust collars and jubilee clips going to cerakote...
Nah - the oem mild steel ones...probably going to get stainless ones but preserving the oem's as well
Save yourself a lot of hassle and stick to the standard Airbox. I’ve spent the last 3 years messing with my Z400 jetting after fitting pod filters, Cv carbs don’t like em.
Clean 'em up, and stick them in a jam jar of oil in the shed. They will last forever and you save yourself some cash! I have been replacing jubilee clips on my VFR. Surprisingly, Amazon had great prices on stainless ones and coupled with super fast delivery they seemed a great buy.
Theres lots to choose from, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Adjustable...lamps+clips+stainless+steel+w4,aps,71&sr=8-32 12 stainless for £9 delivered seems OK? I did buy mine in larger (couple of mm) sizes than come with OEM listings as I bought silicone hose and its waaaay easier to get them on!
Yeah - much cheaper than the bay....i was almost going to go down the local shop....still might but i tend to work longer hours so cant get there...brilliant - thanks.
