  4. sounds like you’re very local to me. The two bike nights are Wednesday at Bull Inn, and Thursdays at The Swan inn, Little Chart. Both a great nights with huge mix of bikes . I should be at both this week as weather looks ok :D

  5. Another day, another ride out. Mrs Slingy has abandoned her Street Triple and not ridden it since picking up the 848 :D

On a positive note, I had already ordered a seal buddy as soon as I saw one fork pissing out. While waiting for it to arrive I made a DIY version out of some plastic at home. That seemed to do the trick until proper seal buddy arrived today. Gave the forks another going round with the proper tool before the ride and we appear to have dry forks.. for now :punch:

  6. Well another day, another ride :D

Done another couple of bike nights this week and then over to Dover with some friends this morning . Mrs Slingy is still in love with the bike and can’t get enough of it, so much so I rode her poor Street today to give it a run !

I replaced the battery this week and it starts much better now, still a little slower than my 996 or her 748, but much better. Before it would be slow enough to occasionally kick back on the sprag clutch which isn’t ideal. Battery in there was around 6 years old and spent most it’s life on a tender. £55 new Yuasa fitted now.

Another change that’s probably marmite is a new black double bubble screen fitted which was brilliant on the motorway earlier. As always, original screen carefully packed away for future refitting. Not everyone’s cup of tea but as the title says….

I rode the bike for the first time today, gotta say, what a stonking little thing ! Amazingly quick for its size and engine, with sublime handling to suit. The rear suspension is about right for her but front needs softening off a little, currently only using half the fork travel and that was with me braking like hell at one point.

Another point to mention… these mirrors are fucking useless and borderline dangerous !!!! I kept wondering why Mrs S kept flapping her arms around like she was doing the funky chicken, turns out no matter how much you move your arms or your head, you will still see nothing other than your elbows or shoulders :skull:

Couple of pics from today a friend on his Kawa 650.

  7. So today marks a month to the day that Mrs Slingy bought the 848. It has been an absolute peach and leaves her beaming ear to ear after every ride which is great.

Today we did a nice big coastal loop of Kent with some great roads to let rip on. Also noted when we got back that she has now covered just over 500 miles this month on the 848, so certainly putting some miles in :cool:
