Thinking of one of these for my own bike. Not many images online of this part fitted onto a V4, save for these.
Can you post up some pics. Interested to see how well it conforms to the shape of the tank (gaps at the edges) and how secure it is fitted. Also how the reverse side of it is finished off (though I appreciate yours is now stuck on to be able to see this), principally, is there a reverse side lip onto which the adhesive strip is fitted, else I would imagine the carbon edges would dig into the paint, when pressed up against the surface.
Is this to seat you more snuggly ? or for some other reason ? Curious as I seem to have lots of room forwards and backwards too and never know quite where to position myself... Around the tank more tightly or back bum up against the rear... Obviously I'm seeing this relevant if riding a little more progressively etc....
Not much help at the moment as I won’t be seeing the bike for a couple of weeks. The fit is really good and as you move it around you will find where it fits most closely. It is designed to go with the race seat (which I’ve just bought but not fitted yet) so I hope it’s in the right place although as I said it seems to fit closely. The tape on the back is thick enough to keep it away from the metal. If you are fitting a raised race seat then I suggest fitting the seat 1st. The only thing of note is that the adhesive behind the V4 grips seemed a bit too much so it sticks out(overflows) a bit. Could possibly trim it but I don’t want to scratch the CF.
