So I spent some time at the RST Race Dept in Mansfield this week as they had opened up a limited number of slots for non ACU licence holders to get access to the same kit and service as the race guys that they support. What a great service and it went along these lines: 1. First you select Airbag or Non Airbag Suit 2. They have a number of 'try on' suits so you get cracking with one of those and find something that kind of works. 3. From there they are nipping, tucking, letting out and measuring to their hearts content to get the exact dimensions for your suit. 4. Once all the measuring is done they then sit you with a suit designer and take you through the myriad of options available to you in the design from colours to patterns to incorporating any logos you want and whether you want a suit with sew on badges or a screen printed, the latter is more expensive but also means you get a full kangaroo leather suit. As you can guess, i went with the latter ...... thanks Chloe for all the guidance and advice ... Whilst I was there 2 Sam Lowes suits came in for repair, they were tiny, they will deffo need more kangaroos for my suit ..... their suits come with the In & Motion airbag tech all built in so no faffing and means I can dedicate my TechAir vest for road duties. Overall really impressed so far and this is whats coming my way in 6-7 weeks just in time for a Jerez euro with No Limits
Very nice indeed. Having tested their airbag suit at Snetterton last year I can highly recommend them.
Looks smart that. Was it in the acu deal? Rst have come along way over the last few years. They used to be pretty rough in a crash
£1800, they aren't secretive about their pricing Cheers, and I don't think so, its a limited access service so I guess they are right to charge a premium, I'm happy with the cost.
I know it used to be acu only but I heard they’d opened it up / were going to open it up. looks awesome mate. They turn out some really great looking designs !
Yeah, opening a limited number of measuring and design slots to us 'normals', in fairness i did already have Bob badgering them to let me in !!!
I'm guessing that's the non airbag option? Is this the same place the 44teeth lads went? And is that the same Chloe that was sporting a rather impressive pair of bolt ons? And you're right about racers suits, they look like like child leathers when you see them hung up Very smart anyway Don't go mad at Christmas otherwise they won't fit. Ask me how I know
The suit looks fantastic, and I love the penguins. It’s the exactly same cost (£1,800) as an entry-level Hideout onesie: £1,150 for a Hideout Classic one-piece, plus £30% if you want made-to-measure, and about £300 for the InMotion airbag. I imagine Scott Leathers costs similar or slightly less money, but BKS looks a lot more.
