For Sale 2001 996s (9.2k Miles) + Spares

  1. Afternoon all

I'm reluctantly selling my 2001 996S with a load of spares. I bought the bike back in 2016. The previous owner had sadly passed away and his wife had sold the bike to a dealer who I bought it off. He'd quite obviously cherished the bike and had spent loads making it into a Hodgson Fila rep. The bike has a plaque on the top yoke he'd made up stating Ducati 996S Fila 01/01! The bike had full Ducati Performance carbon bodywork painted up beautifully. Unfortunately, after a few months of ownership a white van pulled out in front of me at a mini roundabout and I had to put the bike down on it's right side to prevent a collision. Minimal damage but bike was a Cat D write off due to the cost of replacing the carbon bodywork. I've spent the time since sourcing and fitting parts which include the following.

Mint set of original fairing panels - very expensive - Seat is still the carbon one with slight damage from the crash
Brembo race spec levers/master cylinder - very expensive
Brembo P4 Calipers - very expensive
    Acculign rearsets
    Renthal clip ons

Spares I have with the bike

Two tanks in pretty good condition
Fibreglass bodywork which I bought immediately after the accident to get it back on the road. Top fairing has the larger air vents and I have the carbon ducts to go with it. Seat unit hasn't been used.
Ducati performance carbon side panels - accident damaged
OEM top fairing - no cracks but needs the paint finishing off
    Original calipers
    Original exhaust cans
    Mirrors
Rear stand - has castors so you can move the bike around easily

I bought and fitted 996R forks and magnesium wheels which I've now sold. The few miles I put on the bike were with these fitted. The tyres on the bike now are the one's which came with the bike when I bought it. I believe they are the original Michelin Pilots dated 2000! Not sure but think the bike was a bit of a museum piece prior to me buying it.

I've just carried out a service on the bike doing the belts, new spark plugs, oil change and have had the forks serviced by PDQ in Slough. Bike is currently on Sorn.

There's the normal slight flaking of paint on the engine but nothing terrible. the bike has just passed it's MOT. It failed to start with as there was no number plate light but I've sorted that and it sailed through. It's a really nice, low mileage bike (only 9,200k) that rides beautifully. I'm only selling because money is a bit tight at the moment and I want to finish my FZR1000 project and need funds for this. I know the Cat D will affect the price and I'm open to sensible realistic offers. I live in Finchampstead, near Reading and viewings are welcome. Some photos attached but can send more, just message me. Apologies if I've missed anything, happy to answer any questions. Cheers, Dan
