1199 Dda+ ..which Dongle

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Justatad, Sep 20, 2022.

  1. I have the GPS unit under the front screen, but when I purchased the bike last week ( Riders ) unfortunately I didn’t get the dongle in the box, after looking on eBay, I’m confused ! the dongles sell for between £15 - £150
There are no part numbers on the DDA box I have, can anyone tell me which one I need for a 2012 1199s
    Thanks

  2. My 2016 Panigale R came with a DDA unit made by PROSA for DMH, with part number: 38522121A, and plugs into the loom under the seat, but the p/n for the 1199S may be different. The first link below states that a DDA unit is available for your model. The second link is for the 2012 1199 Tricolore and shows the DDA as an accessory on pages 102 and 103, with a kit part number: 96676510B; I assume it's the same as the 1199S. The third link is to this kit part number still available to buy, but you don't need the GPS. The fourth link is to other discussions on this forum on related matters. The final link is to similar discussions on another forum, with the DDA question raised but not answered.
Alternatively, a call to JHP may help if Riders can't?
I hope this information is useful.

  3. Thanks Tom

  4. If your stuck, the PZ Racing P600 is £180 all in. I think the Ducati gps/dda is outrageously priced. Not sure which is better as not used either but I'm leaning towards the PZ.

  5. There’s a part number shown in this photo 38522021A

  6. Just checked, and the box I have has the Ducati part number showed as in Chrisw's post above, but it is: 38522121A.
    Tom.

  7. I've done a little more checking, and it seems that p/n: 38522021A is superseded by 38522021D, and this is listed as:

    DDA 16 MB
DUCATI 2013 SUPERBIKE 1199 PANIGALE S TRICOLORE ACCESSORIES » ACCESSORIES
    - Genuine Ducati: 38522021D.

Please note this part replaces the following parts:

    38522021A, 38522021B, 38522021C .

The DDA 16 MB is used on 2 models from 2013 to 2014:

    Seastar list this as:

    DDA 16 MB DU38522021D £269.63.

So this may be the correct number for your bike, but a check with a dealer is advisable.

There is this one on Ebay UK, but it doesn't list the Ducati part number:

    Good luck.

    Tom.

  15. I have a 1199s and a dda dongle for the 1299/Pani R, it works with the 1199 and saves data for all the channels that the 1199 has, and the sensors ( Lean Angle and maybe one more ) that are 1299 specific are empty. When I connect the dda to the 1199 it comes up with a “unknown device” error and that stays on until it is disconnected, but it works fine.
