Ducati 999 by Arete Americana

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Slickbass, Jul 26, 2013.

  1. Hi all

Just saw this online and thought others may be interested to see another take on a 999 customisation.

I know the styling of the 999/749 has been discussed to death on a number of forums but I was wondering what others think of this?

I am on the fence regarding it.

Here is the link: Ducati 999 CF - Arete Americana - il Ducatistail Ducatista

    Apologies if already posted.

  2....... that is all

  3. I likes that

  4. Nice I like the exhaust outlets

  5. Seat looks a bit uncomfy, but that is nit-picking.

    looks very nice.

  6. That is EFFING LOVELY!

    Want one!

  7. Looks pretty good for a hoon - although the seat - - but of no use for actually going anywhere as there is nowhere to put a tail pack.

It this nitpicking? Dunno, but some of us like riding a road we don't know, and I've pretty much done all the ones around here where I can still get back home on the day I left.

  8. Yes.
If you are staying out overnight, pack a credit card and buy some clothes/toothbrush etc on arrival.

You need to appreciate the aesthetic and look for innovative solutions to life's boring practicalities....

  9. very very nice indeed,

would love to have a go on that, sod the practicalities

  10. Well I do appreciate the aesthetic. My issue is that I see no solution to life's boring practicalities. But if I didn't live in the real world, sure. Why not?

Bikes have become increasingly impractical over the decades. Now if you want practicality, you end up with something fugly like a Multi. Is it not beyond the wit of designer to design a beautiful bike which is actually useful?

  11. you lack imagination  imagine rocking up to stelvio etc on THAT :):upyeah:

my kriega rucksack holds essentials for a week or 2 in europe, you could put a tank bag on it at a push,

where ther is a will there is a way :D

  13. I've pondered this one for a bit. The word hid springs to mind.

  14. Like the style but not the colour scheme

  15. It is an old Radial Ducati project I mean tank is dead give away with them always.

Lovely bike, great colour all it needs is red rims to look like senna grey scheme.

  16. its built by the the USA importer of Radical Ducatis kits

  17. why bother about the impracticalities (did I spell that write) most people have a second usable bike.

  18. yeah. you're not wrong to be honest. And the DB1 is a beautiful bike and just as impractical.

  19. cool bike but a strange bike.
