  8. Don't mention the 848 or it's replacement around andyb lol it's turning him into an Internet troll. I can't wait to get my 899 evo corse SE tricolore carbon :)

  9.

I'm sure some already have the date penciled in their diary to test ride it.

  10. Threads merged

  11. This is just an attempt to get all 849/899/Mini Pani discussions all together

  12. You could be ultra proactive, nail your colours to the mast and create a separate section for all the 899 threads that are bound to emerge once the thing becomes available...

  13. It'll need a separate section in the forum.

  14. aint that the truth

  15. Ultimately you've got to go with the bike which speaks to you.... you'll wait forever if you want the latest/greatest. There's always something new on the horizon.

I'm just been through the deliciously agonizing internal debate of what bike to buy.

I was completely set on the 2013 848 Corse SE, but then realised that for similar money I could look at slightly used 1198 SP or a 1yr old base Panigale ABS.

Ultimately I went with the Panigale for an odd and personal collection of reasons - on the plus side, it eliminates the "what if I had more power question", has ABS and was red (compared to the black/grey 848 which I thought I would love, but then didn't when I saw it for real) and on the negative side, it has more power than I will ever be able to use given my skills/commitment level, is going to cost me a fortune in tires and will possibly depreciate faster than the 848 Corse SE. But I fell in love with it, so the logical arguments become somewhat moot.

What I would say is I think that the 848 Corse SE has the potential to become a classic. If Ducati's new middle-weight does go the same route as the Pani, then the 848 will be the last of the trellis frame super bikes and the Corse SE the most trick of those.

Equally, I think the 1198 SP has future classic written all over it.
