Hi all, still on my hunt for a decent 900SS. I’ve put off calling this guy as I think it’s well overpriced. He says it’s all completely original but the engine colour doesn’t look like it to me. Anyone got any ideas? apparently he has a collection of 50 bikes and he’s selling most of them. Who knows. He has apparently only done 50 miles in ‘all the years’ he’s owned it and hasn’t changed the oils or belts once in that time. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/15511349...GRNhCFcRYa&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
there is someone else after one on here, otherwise would have put another one up, apart from that - this won't appeal probably.. :- https://www.gumtree.com/p/ducati-motorbikes/ducati-900ss-1994-904-cc-/1438990588
Yeah, that one is a bit far away from what I’m looking for. I’ll get there! There is a nice(ish) one in Bookham that’s been delisted today which ohlins rear shock. He wants close to £5k though which is steep in my eyes. Especially with a cracked fairing!
No. It is not original. Wheel and engine colour both look off (suspect a big tin of paint was bought and they both got painted). The fairing fasteners are also wrong. There will be more than that. Also, even in toastervision low res pics, it doesn’t look that tidy. Suspect it will be bought by someone travelling a long distance, desperate to have one, sick of looking and wasting fuel, negotiate £500 off and believe they did well. If it were me, I would rather wait for a really good original one at similar money, or buy a loved but cosmetically tired one for half the money and bring it up to standard over time.
If my grey matter is up to date he had two, one red one yellow and a set of black bodywork both great rebuilds, I’ve looked many times reading his thread on the rebuild
Its a lovely thing and will make somebody happy, but I understood (from the thread title) that it was important to the OP that the bike he bought was in factory original spec?
