Mrs Slingy’s 848 has some aftermarket grips fitted that are getting a little tired. I would prefer to replace with standard Ducati OE grips but everywhere I’ve tried wants to sell me a whole throttle assy ? Surely they are just standard length 22mm grips like most other models ? Has anyone found grips off another model to fit without changing the whole shebang like below
Do the R1 throttle mod and fit the matching left grip. The genuine throttle Part number was 4YR-26240-02-00 (may have been updated)
As far as the original grips go Ducati only sell them complete with the plastic roller assembly. I use Pro grips and I find them better than stock. I got hold of an old roller assembly and machined off the lip at the end to make them fit better.
Thanks guys, for other models it seems you can buy just the grips alone like for my 996 etc, but the 848 they want to sell the whole throttle tube assy as mentioned above. Will look into R1 throttle mod or have a measure up to see if 996 grips are correct length etc.
