I see on FB that Ducati will be announcing the V4 Enduro at 4pm on September 29th. I've not seen any talk of this coming, so am quite interested to see what is in store, how it differs from the standard V4/S. Not quite sure I want to know what the price will be though
I still get 380miles average steady riding to my 2016 model 33-litre tank. Best I've had was within first 1000 miles before race-exhaust fitted and got 406 [55,000miles+].
Holy crap ! Best I managed on my 1200 enduro was 290 miles of steady riding. It was usually around 260. My 1260 enduro is a bit better, but I don't generally do much steady riding Managed to run out of fuel on my 2012 1200S on Saturday. Tank dry at 138 miles of brisk++ riding I still really like the look of the 1260 enduro and will likely keep it for a while yet since its only a year old. Still interested to see the new enduro though, just incase i get tempted, and to see what is different given the V4/S can have spoked wheels etc anyway. Surely it must be more than just a larger fuel tank...
Very interested to see this! Big tank, spoke wheels as standard and slightly longer suspension at a guess ... and slightly modified bodywork and seat ...
Blimey their marketing department is not doing it's job if you already know what model it is before the big reveal tomorrow.
Topolino that is a fair comment. I don't know for sure, just simply posting up as it is what was posted to a FB group. Having looked at the Ducati site it doesnt say anything as to what is being revealed.
with a £5-£10k premium slapped on top. Pretty sure it will come with fasteners that spoil, rattle off or seize. Bodywork with plastic tangs that will break asap. Oh and the rear brake wont work. I quite like the aesthetics of the DesertX tbf.
You're right. The only thing I can think of is doing what KTM have done (on the 1290 super adventure?) and have dangly bits which are lower down on each side for fuel
Dark pic on website about next release. Looks like a multi enduro. How many off-road bikes are they going to release, will we see a dirt version of a pannigale?
I reckon I should have waited, a larger fuel tank was on my want list. But as my V4S is nearly sorted I’m not going to be changing, just yet. Spokes are ok, but the gold rims on the GSA were a PITA to keep/get clean, would be significantly worse covered in chain lube.
I just don't understand the whole concept of putting up teaser images on their website and Youtube, if they then just blurt it out on FB before the "Premiere" videos are live streamed. There is a new Diavel V4 on it's way as well. I remember in late 2006, when the 1098 was leaked to the t'internet, after some studio images from the brochure shoot went "missing". Then boss and CEO Gabriele Del Torchio, was said to be fuming and IIRC some heads rolled as a consequence. In addition you have the likes of "Claret Shambisi" blubbering on about the Diavel V4, on his channel, long before it is due to be released and others hinting at what the new Lambo Streetfighter V4 was, even after signing NDA's. Nowadays it is so difficult to keep a lid on things, with peoples insatiable appetite for even a morsel of information. I don't envy Ducati in that respect.
I would have said cost, and that they think the current one has enough range. At the end of the day, I get maybe 15-20 miles less than my old 1260. I reckon they figured job done at that. I think they'd also be reticent to add more weight, which is what you get with bigger and bigger tanks ofc
Just lifted off the USA forum site - apparently on the Ducati App: 30 liter (7.9 gal) aluminum tank 200 mm (7.87") of travel increasing ground clearance Wider footpegs for rider and passenger with rubber inserts Longer tail section giving passengers more leg room New Power Mode for off roading (114 hp limit) Lighter spoked rims Easy Lift function at key on to make it easier to get off the side stand utilizing the forks and shock compression Comes in Ducati Red or Matte Black Rear cylinder deactivation while riding in all riding modes This could be very tempting....
I hope this bit is a software/tune re-flash and will filter down? Extended deactivation The Multistrada V4 Rally also introduces a brand-new strategy of extended deactivation of the rear cylinder bank, a technical solution debuting for the first time in the world on a production motorcyclewith the “Rally”. In addition to switching off the rear cylinders at idle with the motorcycle stationary, a function already present on the Multistrada V4, the V4 Granturismo now keeps the rear bank deactivated in other operating conditions to the benefit of fuel consumption and emissions. With this new strategy, deactivation takes place even with the motorcycle in motion: as speed increases or above a certain power request from the throttle grip, the rear cylinders are reactivated, guaranteeing the character and performance of the V4 Granturismo. This system is active in all Riding Modes.
