Cant stand Matt. Looks old, dated, flat and immediately like it needs replacing. But I am a bit of a pikey: love a bit of shiney good too…. No fence sitting. Which is preferable
Gloss, 100%. Popped some mirror caps on my car earlier to go with the front and rear diffusers and spoilers, side skirts and vents, roof and all the other places I have dripping with it
I like both too. Huggers and sssa covers, chain guards etc, Matt. Bodywork, like tank etc, Gloss. But I prefer matt as I wouldnt have carbon b/w as it'd be painted.
Prefer matt. Gloss stuff looks cheap and too "tarts handbag" these days. Its from the anodised probolt tat era and none of that has aged well. Conversely, I'm not keen on matt paint, and it annoys me on the tank of my KTM SDR.
Depends if the bike is painted gloss or matt. My Aprilia is matt so all the cf is matt too. The Monster and 999 i had were gloss so the cf was gloss. Simples!
Functional, thats how I like it ... none of this carbon for carbons sake bollox ..... PS anyone selling a carbon fibre loo seat ?
Gloss everytime -always looks new. Easy to clean. Sparkles in the sunlight. Matt -looks old even in the store. Trickier to clean, Looks dull in all lighting.
I'm in both camps for carbon finishes, all depends on what the model and year is....originality wins the day for me.
if you like matt carbon but inherit some gloss on a bike, just leave the bike out in all elements for a couple of years, and particularly in the sun.
