nothing I know of.. not Surrey, but Ducati track day coming up on the 14th September at Silverstone Northants - I think there is a thread up and running.
well, next weekend, due to an anti-noise petition being signed by all the people that have bought houses close to Goodwood, the Festival of speed has now undergone a few alterations - here's a teaser preview of the main event:-
Cnunts... Seriously I used to go religiously to the revival.. Loved all the dress-up (!) and farting around in the pits... so atmospheric... I unfortunately had the infamy of crashing a Jag Low Drag around there at an octane classics day in 2009 and that put a very expensive stop to my classic racing career (lol!)
What's wrong with folk, it's always been a racetrack, perhaps they should move somewhere else like the falkland Islands.
I nipped up to BH yesterday afternoon. There was a very nice MV F4 in Martini livery. Regarding roads nearby - there are a couple but know what you mean regarding 40mph limits!
I ended up doing a loop into Newlands... Spent most of the ride squinting with the visor 2/3rds open as the mist was so bad I couldn't see sh*t. Worth it though, amazing bacon butty as usual and some nice chaps to speak with. Ref Roads - next time you come up my way, let me know and perhaps you can show me some !
Nipped out to Bury Hill. Saw a yellow 748/9*6 with white numberboards - looked like a 748SP - just coming out of Billingshurst on A29…anybody here?
It's the Goodwood two wheel day this Sunday, weather looks favourable. Have registered my superlight for display. Just read entry from 7am ! and it winds up at 12 . maps reckons its just under two hours to get there . I'm not leaving at 5am, do people arrive later as it will be bloody freezing? . Might go and just park in the carpark later?
yes, that is crazy, not sure but i think they are basing that arrival timing on height of summer/most popular breakfast meets, which I remember did mean starting really early to avoid congestion, as (at peak popularity) the track can be over half full of "vehicles". As far as departure, again, things change, but I can remember arriving late one time, around midday, and it was a Ghost town. I think your idea of Plan "B" is a good one, and if I go then will just turn up and park with all the other plebs. This might not be that well-attended..
Was thinking of going - apparently a ticket (free) is needed but every time I try to sort it out on the Goodwood site it just loops back to the register page. I have been trying for two weeks on and off and sort of lost interest now... will call them tomorrow but a 5AM start is not on the agenda!
You don’t need a ticket to just park up Kev, this is the confusion that always arises, you only need a ticket if you want to pose on the track. don’t get me wrong, I have done it don’t think I got a ticket that time although was supposed to have one, I just headed for the track and they let me in.
