I’m trying to remove the OEM mudguard to replace it with a nice shiny new carbon fibre one from Conquest Racing. Sadly I’m struggling to remove the brake line clamp. The new one looks simple, but the original is stubborn. Can someone kindly advise how this is achieved.
I didn't take mine out but a T-10 Torx fit nice and snug. Part number is 77440101A, a 3.5x10 self tapping screw and it looks like this.
I have had my front fender off to fit a Pyramid extender, I seem to remember it is a Torx screw. there are a few Torx bolts on the V4 as well as Allen bolts - a bit of mixture. Once undone it was easy to get the pipe out of the clip and easy to put back on, MUCH easier than on the 1260 etc.
I bought a pyramid extender, it doesn’t fit the carbon front mudguard. Modified it used the double sided pads and some silicon , but didn’t want to use the drill and pin. Dropped off after 150 miles.
Looks awful close to the mudguard. Highly recommend a piece of tape over that so you you don't get any tool marks on the original
I fitted my Pyramid extender to the OEM mudguard with the sticky pads and pins, 11k miles and it's still there doing what it should, keeps the lower engine clean (ish)
I got the Powerbronze extender a few weeks back and it fits to carbon front mudguard perfectly. I fitted it using a strong superglue, fits snuggly and so far so good, it's still there after about 1000 miles.
