V4 Full Akrapovic Vs Full Termignoni

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Pete Lay, Aug 27, 2022.

  1. Looking for opinions on replacing Akra on my V4s, for a full Termi (not Uscite) if I’m honest prefer the cosmetics of the termi. I think it goes back to the 998 days the preference, I’ve got Termi’s on my Matrix and weighing up the options. So any comments regardless of view would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks people

  2. I do like that new Termignoni set up with the wheelbarrow exhausts. I’ve got the Uscite on mine but the cost to change would be madness as my current set up is great (noisy though). I like the way termi provide UpMap for each system configuration. Slick.

  3. Mine...

  5. Can any of these be used on the road, or is anyone using them on the road?

  6. Use mine on the road. Can add baffles if needed

  7. Good to know. Do you put the numberplate on the back of your leathers? The system you have looks great. Do you have a video of the sound somewhere?

  8. You buy a separate numberplate holder from Termi when you buy the system. Pm me and I can send you a video of it running

  9. Thanks. I can’t see how to PM you?

  10. Using the Akrapovic full system on the road, never had any problems so far, but will be changing to a TERMI D200 soon, so fingers crossed won’t have any problems with that either

  11. Thanks Pete.

I am looking at the available options at the moment so this thread is of interest and I'll be interested to see which way you go with this.

Which Akrapovic are you currently using? Are you looking to change just for the cosmetics of having the exhaust under(ish) the seat like the traditional Ducati setup?

The Termignoni black slip-on actually seems good value - 10hp gain and an easy fit, but no major weight loss of course. It sounds good as well from what you can tell on YouTube.

The Akrapovic that Ducati sell would presumably not void the warranty whereas the Termignoni and other options would? With only a few months short of four years warranty remaining it's a consideration for me.

I like the weight savings offered by the full systems (not that the bike is overweight in the first place).

The wheelbarrow Akrapovic looks good but the bottom exit version is a lot cheaper and has a bit more of a weight saving.

The Termignoni full system that you mentioned in your first post looks good. I'm not sure if it still allows fitment of a numberplate and indicators (I have the Evotech tail tidy at present).

The 4Uscite seems a good option but I'm not sold on the look of the bottom exhausts part and some of the cosmetics. The exhaust under the seat looks ok though and it sounds good from the video that Dave sent to me.

  12. Hi Spooky
Firstly that’s a lot of questions in one go.
My current system is the Full Titanium Akrapovic system which i had fitted when the bike was new 2021 so still a bit of warranty left, I don’t know for certain but as Ducati do offer the D200 system on their website now, It might not be a problem.
My main use will be on the road, so i suppose you could say cosmetic is the main reason, plus I’ve always been a Termi fan, another reason is I’m having my V4S resprayed and badged the same colour Green as my Matrix so the D200s just seem to be the finishing touch.
With the Evotech tail tidy providing you use a 7 x 5 plate you should be fine. But as you know if you go any bigger it obscures your indicators anyway.
I hope this covers most things.

  13. It was only four!
Thanks, that’s useful. I hadn’t seen any Termignoni exhausts on the Ducati website.

  14. It looks like the Termignoni D200 can be used with a numberplate holder from Rizoma (Fox). Availability is better than Akrapovic and I think the D200 looks good, but I cannot see any numbers for weight reduction or power increase over standard on the Termignoni website. Is there any info on this? It seems to use the standard front header so install would be easier.

I've also seen some people talking about issues fitting the wheelbarrow Akrapovic (one said they had to cut fins off the under tail cover).

I'm leaning toward lower-exit Akrapovic for my bike unless their are some figures for the D200 that make it a more compelling option.

Hopefully I'm not threadjacking and discussion of these things will be useful to the OP.

  15. Not threadjacking, all views are welcome. I will be changing from full Akrapovic which i had fitted to the bike when i bought it new to a full Termignoni D200 when the bike comes back from the Sprayers. I will do before and after photos and hopefully that might help with others having the same dilemma.

  16. I’m looking forward to seeing and hearing before and after between the two. It will be really helpful in my decision making.

Is your current one the top exit?

i’ll have to have another look on the Ducati website as I didn’t see the D200 system on there. I still found nothing about power and weight improvements.

  17. What's the fit like on the carbon belly pan as in all the pictures I have seen to date, there seems to be a gap between them, just in front of the rear wheel. I noticed the same on your bike.

  18. Based on the UpMap website there is more power released by the D200 system (like it needs more power of course).

It looks like it uses the standard front headers, so I guess possibly slightly less weight reduction than the Akrapovic but easier to install.

From a YouTube video I have seen I’m not sure about the styling of the larger carbon side cover at the top. I’m also not sure how the lower fairing looks - if a different part can be fitted or if it would look ok or unfinished.

It certainly seems like a good option though.

  19. No gap on mine at all. Just hadny refitted all the fasteners after cleaning.
