Mv Agusta F3 Rosso, Lovely New Bike!

Discussion in 'Other Bikes' started by Sicilian, Oct 4, 2022.

  1. Just arrived at the weekend, shiney new MV Agusta F3 Rosso. I'd been looking around a sports bikes, Aprilia, BMW, Ducati etc... Chose this beauty in the end. Plenty powerfull enough for my needs and for a sports bike it actually suits my body size and find it reasonably comfortable, my toes actually go flat on the ground lol! The riding position isn't as agressive and the Pani V Twins. Even the stock suspension setup felt spot on for me.I spent Saturday afternoon ceramic coating her and adding some PPF to sides of the tank. I've now added a nice tank pad (not in these photos).

Took her out for 80miles, Sunday. Loved it, personally I think its a better buy to a Ducati Pani V2. I even much prefer the electronics on this than on my SF V4S! Cruise control is great for dual carraige ways, fast straight roads etc.., set it, steer and give your wrists a rest :D. The dash mirrors some stuff from ya smartphone, Satnav, Music, texts etc...

You can even update the software on the bike via the MV Agusta Ride app, which I must say I think is a great idea. Software updates are just rolled out then update online when needed.

I may change the exhaust at some stage for a QD Power gun or the Official MV system here: https://specialparts.mvagusta.com/c...xhausts/products/black-ceramic-racing-exhaust . I have to say though it was actually nice riding a quiter bike and no ear plugs LOL! Coulple of other mods I'm going to do is replace the huge rear indicators, smaller plate and adjustable TWM levers. Other than that I'm going to leave her pretty much standard.

Over all really, really please with my choice. If anyone fancys a change from Ducati MV Agusta London are currently offering a very low 3.9% four year PCP plan. £1500 deposit and £140 p/m

I'm not getting rid of the SF V4S any time soon though

Oh and I forgot to say, theres not a ridiculous 4-6 month lead time like Ducati are quoting for a Pani V2

  4. Very nice! as you can see from my Avatar I had an F3 800. I had a 2021 Euro 4 one and it was absolutely brilliant, other than being absolutely horrible to work on. I had to top up the coolant and it is a seat unit and fuel tank off job!!!

I have had a few exhausts on mine, I had a Low mount HP Corse, which I didn't like as it just made it look like a Daytona 675. Then I had a High Mount HP Corse, which looked and sounded absolutely amazing, and comes with two baffle sizes, the mid one being a perfect balance for road use.

Otherwise I would have just gone SC Project via MV as you say.

I fitted an Ohlins steering damper to mine, through Comquest Racing on here, it was nicely made and made an absolutely HUGE difference to the manners on the road, it really did, I can't quite describe it. Finally the first thing I did when I got the bike was put the Dave Moss settings on the suspension, and although I don't like the bloke, I'm the same weight, and when I had it checked at Castle Combe the bloke said it was perfect.

Happy to chat through any questions if I can help. The Rosso is a bit different electronics wise but I am fairly well researched on common issues etc.

I came from a Panigale V2 to my MV, I still preferred the look of the V2, and it still was a little more 'special' in the fit and finish (for example top yoke and some components around the handlebars and footrests etc), but it was a total pain to live with. It cooked me, the blipper used to behave differently every time I used it, the bike felt like someone had put the brakes on at 5k revs because of emissions control, etc etc. None of these issues with the F3, pushbike like steering and linear hungry engine.

  5. They have done a great job with the standard exhaust.
Always like the looks of MV's but just no dealers nearby.I think the closest to me is Bennetts in Barnsley. Not a million miles but not convenient either.

  6. Had an MV Turismo for 2 and half years. Fabulous bike but some of the electrics were a bit shonky. Indicators, Quick Shifter sensor, clutch fluid pressure switch, side stand switch. Had to get rid when three of these failed, not for the first time, on one tour. Did 18,000 miles in that time. Both bigger than garage queen miles and riding in inclement weather didn't really suit the bike. All having been said it was a great ride, decent solo touring bike and the attention to detail in the design, especially the small details, way above Ducati IMHO. Dealer network wasn't great either though one has now opened in Cheltenham where I now live...

I do have a set of these if you're interested. Had crash bungs on the Turismo (occupied forward frame holes/engine mount) and CNC didn't do any blanking plugs at the time for that model. The F3 ones fitted in the remaining frame holes though.

Also had a HP Corse Hydro Tre exhaust which wasn't as outright raucous as the SC Project or others. Beautifully made though, looked and sounded epic.

  7. Good old Claudio Tamburini (who’s Irish I think !). That’s a good PCP deal.

I think they’re lovely, but I do wish they did a decent seat cowl rather than a pillion in red.

And free downloadable software updates? Take note Ducati

  8. You've mixed up two people there hahaha, Massimo Tamburini, and Claudia castiglioni (the MV guy).

Neither have been involved for years, it's been in russian hands now long enough for teh bikes to all have been developed under russian control.

  9. The bloke who owns and/or runs MV London goes by the name Claudio Tamburini. That’s who I was referring to.

  10. Thats correct.

Just remembered couple more good points, the MV Quick shifter puts any Ducati quick shifter to shame, up and down shifting and with the inline triple linear power you can actually ride this bike in higher gears at lower speeds without judding all over the place lol. Oh yes and with the MV Ride app I can setup up my own custom map and upload it to the bike.

It may have the odd few things that are a pain to work on, but dont all bikes?

Dealer network seems pretty ok for me, I can go to either MV London or Krazy Horse Welling. Anything I want done that doesn't need to be done by main dealer I use Desmoshed over in Barnet.

Accessories I think depending what you want you'd need to order online from Italy. Theres some UK based, but I'm not intending on modding too much, she's pretty as she is.

Oh and another thing, MV supply a FREE charger for the bike too! Try getting a free charger out of a Ducati dealer lol!

  12. I’ve never been able to get a free T shirt, let alone a charger!

  13. Here's my little beauty with the SC Project pipe that is unbelievably loud. I am fitting an Ohlins TTX as the Sachs OEM doesn't have enough compression for my riding.
Mine is a 2015 with 5k miles and well looked after. I like the electronics, especially the lap timer, which was quite useful at Brands last month. It rained (of course) and playing with the TC kept me out of the gravel.
I also really like the QS and the little "crack" the exhaust makes between changes.
Wherever I go a crowd forms because they are great to look at, but also rare.

  14. I dropped in there for a coffee and chat. I think he likes telling people his name, I must have had that "No way, you are Claudio Tamburini?" look on my face, but luckily those words never came out o_O

  15. Just a thought, I have been trying to buy an MV Corse leather jacket to fit my leather trousers. Why don't MV make this stuff? I could only find Pakistan made clothing.

  16. They are missing out and letting the bootleggers flood the market.

MV never was that commercially minded though
