  1. Crying my eyes out.

I met Chrissy at Excel. Such a lovely young fella. I called out to him from the little grandstand where the racing was (with McPint and Hicky) as he was leaving the arena and he came straight over and shook my hand and chatted. I wished him a good season.......

    It’s utterly heartbreaking.

  3. gutted - was there with my 5 year old daughter and he was waving and chatting whilst on his moped with his sister on the back really sad

  4. Very sad ☹️ - RIP.

  5. God speed young fella.

  6. Firstly, I am someone who gives Higgs some serious stick, but I don't think anyone can underestimate the great pressure the marshals (volunteers I believe), and medical staff were all under, protocol in place or not, horrible to deal with and sounds like they did the best they could.

On Chrissy, I'm devastated. I never met him but been really following him closely, all his journey stuff and I've met quite a lot of loud ego maniac bike racers who think they are big time. One, not to be named at Bemsee at the weekend was in our garage and my gosh, what a tosser... Chrissy just seemed like he was cut from a different cloth. He seemed reserved, measured, unbelievably kind and I'm sure others feel like me, a little closer to him that perhaps they had a right to do so.

    RIP Fella, devastated.

  10. Interesting difference in style back then - no dragging the knee (and elbow in some cases) on the tarmac.

    As @bootsam said, RIP.

  16. I was also a huge fan back in the day, yet he didn't get the universal love of his fellow racers. There's quite a scathing section in Agostini's autobiography about him.
But his tally of results show his huge ability and natural talent.
