Had a Brutale and Stradale 800’s, great engine, good finish and build quality but reliability was luck of the draw as was the dealer network/quality.
I noticed tonight my old F3 is back up for sale, made me a little wistful!!! It’s up for the same money I paid for it 18 months ago though
Exhaust fitted, looks awesome Euro 4/5 homologated, so just a deeper sound than factory exhaust. Sound awesome when she's rev'd up. Managed to keep this bike all road legal.
That looks lovely reminds me of a cross between an 848 and a D675 later model (obviously not the exhaust). Cant beat the triple sound either. Enjoy.
Beautiful bike, lovely to ride, I did love my 675 until the ride by wire throttle went tits up. I couldn’t source parts through MV, local dealer went pop and the waiting list was several months from Italy (few years back, I hope things have improved). MV wouldn’t replace the bubbling fuel tank so I sold it. These bikes are so bloody lovely but dealer back up is shite. I hope you have better luck and enjoy it.
No doesn't get hot enough to damage the tyre. I think the muffler box at the bottom is taking the brunt of the heat away.
Tbh before I bought it I googled around for dealers of OEM parts, there seems to be plenty about now. I bought the bike cos it gave me a massive smile and had loads of fun on the test ride. If something goes wrong I'll worry about it when and if it does. I think the earlier F3's had some issues, but from my research the later F3's with black engines are pretty reliable and they come with a 3 year warranty. Even my SFV4S didn't come with a 3 year warranty. I've heard horror stories from many different vehicles, good and bad with many brands. I love this bike, felt comfortable from the first time I sat on one.
There is a fella on the MV FB page got 37k miles on his 800RR, I’m hoping mine gets to that mileage without too much drama.
Smiles is what it's all about mate, I really did love mine but it was an earlyish 675. Christ it handled beautifully but I did find the electronics a bit crude, ended up switching it all off. Took it for a spank around Cadwell which was memorable, the engine braking assist wanted it to accelerate into the hairpin when on the brakes. I'd consider an MV again if they sorted their dealerships out, they seem to produce so many special editions without ever really settling on the stability of known models. Kind of all over the place really but as a company they deserve to do well. Enjoy!
Honestly for anyone who had issues, please don't let it put you off MV, the bikes when they got updated for Euro 4 made a massive step in terms of fit and finish and reliability. I never had a sniff of an issue with my bike, and have seen dozens of other bikes used and abused that have been fine. I'm not saying that they are perfect, but I think they now easily hold their own in terms of the bike itself, with dealers and spares backup a million % better than even 3-4 years ago. ref the comments about it being a cross between a 848/Daytona, that's exactly what it's like to ride, the tank shape feels a little like a 848, not as square you have a feeling of locking into it. The handle bars are pretty close, so you actually sit pretty upright on the bike if you are a taller person, and the footpegs are relatively low (like a 848) so it's not cramped in the leg. I loved riding mine on the road, it was just too clean for me to turn into a full time trackday bike.
Can any past or present mv owners point me in the direction of an insurance company who doesn't laugh at you when you mention those two letters. Tried to get a quote today to add the F3 on to my current two bike policy and other than outrageous quotes it was a fruitless exercise. Soul destroying. I give up.
