I could never afford one, so anything moot is about as close I'll ever get. I'm still not a fan of the stretch over the frame side panel thing on the v4's. But it still looks bad ass.

Yep all the SP stuff will be available as an extra, the bulk of the costs for the v4r are swallowed up by the motor.
but you don't buy SP stuff to upgrade, you buy the proper stuff like FGRT or FK forks, and marchesini mag or OZ wheels.
So basically the same as the current V4R except GP shift. Except for a seamless gearbox maybe? That's me speculating not the newspapers.
Whatever the final spec, the sale price is capped at €40,000. As @Chillo has said, I expect a long list of very highly priced extras. Andy

I'd like to see Ducati take a look at the BMW M pricing, while it's all 'packs' now, you could upgrade from forged wheels to carbon for only a few hundred £ which does seem appealing, where as Ducati's model seems to be to charge near the full price of the product aftermarket
I'd like to see them look at Yamaha and Honda, they manage to build competative bikes at half the price and with better build quality.
Just wish to add that you can't buy the wheels direct from BST (at least not the ones on the Superleggera V4 and V4SP) as these are locked out by agreement with Ducati and can only be sourced through the dealer network. Only the BST "Rapid Tek" ones are available from BST which look similar but aren't the same wheels.
Yeah, hence why I said 'at least in weight and quality' as I know Ducati locked out the design, and tbf I think it looks MUCH better than the rapidtek one. I am interested though to see what Ducati have in store to take their racing programme forwards, it might be seamless shift gearbox, but I doubt it, if it's more revs, then I can't see how they will get away with it without being capped back in WSBK. My outside bet is that we see some form of variable valve timing before we see seamless shift
I really hope its the seamless gearbox, i'm going through clutch packs and baskets every 3k miles so any design refinements/upgrades would be really appreciated!
No not race shift as std just all the gears will go in the same way…with neutral selected by a button… they won’t put carbon wheels on a homologation bike as it’s a) a waste of the budget when they can’t use them in WSB B) the money has gone elsewhere…
And stick quality items on them like marchesini ohlins and brembo suddenly you are up at the same price..
New blade has ohlins, brembos etc. Yam has all but calipers. So i fail to see your point. Oh and theyre still at least 10k cheaper than a v4r. a v4s has more or less same brakes, forks(ish) and wheels. Wheres the money gone?
