Or maybe some of us don’t feel the need to shout ‘look at me’ and just get on with riding stealthily. The V4 air box makes a good noise when on the throttle hard. When I start it on the drive, it’s far louder than my Street Triple RS.
I don’t want it very loud, like the full system , but loud enough to be able To hear it. I had a streetfighter v4s before this and the standard pipe had a lovely sound, or obnoxious, just meaty. Not imbecilic at all. I live in Cumbria and the police don’t have a lot to do so loud exhausts play onto their hands, except Harley’s, they are exempt apparently
A quiet exhaust does enable you to hear the rattles more and feed your paranoid worry monkey thoughts tho …,
It doesn’t need to be loud to sound good. it won’t be long before obnoxiously loud bikes get impounded. Some European countries already do it.
I think people are forgetting what an 'open' exhaust can bring. And that they have installable baffles. My last 1260 and the one I have on order have had the full termi system and ecu up map from day one. It smoothens out the power curve and removes all the bulahit emissions limits in the way as well. The bike simply feels like it should have. It doesn't have to be overly loud, although if you like a more subtle bike, it's not going to be for you.
Quietest bike I've had is a zx6r, still got it, a '99 G2 last carbed model. Love it! Because it's a bolt on can, it's still original Kawasaki part.
Imagine if everyone who owned a vehicle removed the ‘bullshit’ emissions stuff? How much shite poisonous gases would we all be breathing in then and affecting our health?
If we're sticking to sports bikes, just how many made in the last 20 years actually do significant mileage every year to have any meaningful impact on what you're breathing in? Folks on a goldwing doing interstellar mileages don't tend to customise their bikes in this way
So it’s ok to break the rules if only a few do it? All it does is give a more solid argument to the ‘ban bikes’ brigade.
Nope didn't say that. The bikes that have it done, don't usually do high miles. It's not going to have a huge impact on what you breathe in. Bikes aren't emissions tested at MOT, no rules are being broken. If you're really that concerned, don't ride your bike
