  2. It’ll fill more than that if you let it, like I did. Nearly cost me wife no.2:astonished:
I got heavily into it. Rides were rarely less than 3 hours, and sometimes 100 miles a pop. Rode right through winters too…

  5. I think missus is happy for the peace and quiet !) it’s gonna be a hard week, little training and nightshift the last 3x weeks. I’ve been around the Jalon valley area before but it was in a hire car !
I’m fine weather cycling/motorcycling but don’t mind it if I’m caught out in the rain. The only time and the first time I used full wet tyres whilst racing a Zx10r in a local championship I won the race :joy::joy::joy:

  6. Girona seems to be the 'go to' destination for all the cycling luvies atm. TBF, it does look like a lovely ole city.

  7. I just love Spain in general.
    Food ☀️ sun
Past 10x years Ive had 4+hols a year, hopefully next few years a camper van a few months at a time. Although now brexit and the 90 day rule !
Think going to be lucky as Altea area 3x days of rain on average in October and we’ve had around 5 o_O

  8. Pre scamdemic I was in Spain/Portugal 4-5 times a year as well, on euros. My brother has just permanently moved to Northern Spain, where his scary missus was originally hatched. I like Spain, but been there a lot now.
Restrictions, geo politics and nukes permitting, I'd like to go to Salento next year.

  9. Been there lots over the past 10x years,m myself, but still luv it. Couple of hours on a plane, or a day on a ferry gonna be my next experience. ☀️ makes the difference.

  10. I nearly started a camper conversion a few years ago, but put the project on hold.
May look into it again as I plan my work exit strategy.

  14. I'm still doing the mountain bike miles but lack pics. Out today, 30 odd miles in the water and mud, although not all slop, some dry ish trails remain where they get a kind of drainage...

  15. This week along with two friends ridden the Devon Coast to Coast from Ilfracombe to Plymouth, 117.6 miles, 7,800 feet climbed. No punctures or mechanicals but the riders are properly tired.

  16. The Devon Coast to Coast is mainly on trails so a gravel bike is the best, but one of our group did it on a roadie.

  17. Yes it was the Tarka Trail, also close to the end of day one.

I'd highly recommend the ride to anyone, we did it over three days, could easily be done in two. We rode 11 miles from our hotel to Ilfracombe for the start. The three days were surprisingly similar in terms off climbing, but day 2 was the hardest, made more difficult with the wind and the rain.

Tarka trail, Granite Way and Drakes Trail are all fantastic facilities and we will be looking to do more rides on similar.

  18. Been a while since I posted owt in the cyclist thread, other things have been taking over my life
Still down under in Brisbane at my Daughter’s and the weathers starting to get hot now,..like properly hot
So as us mad dogs and Englishmen do,…out in the mid day sun :sun:
Up to Scarborough for a nice breakfast ride…

So,..sourdough toast, 2 x poached eggs, smashed Avo, 2 x bacon rashers and Americano

    Bike and Beach…just what I like :D

Now although it was sunny and red hot, there was quite a wind going and it was hellish strong headwind when I turned back for home and I don’t know why,..but at about 42 miles in I just bonked big style :( ..power just drained outta my legs completely, I think it was a combination of , first really hot ride this year,..dehydration,…loss of electrolytes,..or just getting old :sob:
So my engine warning light came on and I went into “ limp home mode” and just ground it out to get back  , had a brainwave to take on more fluids so I stopped at a local craft brewery close to home called the Happy Valley Brewing company for a quick snifter,…as you do ;)

Decided I’m gonna blame the 34c heat for my bonk today, come next month and it’ll probably be getting into the 40s ..might leave the bike alone for a while then
    Laters peeps :upyeah:
