Please have a look at the speedo drive. If it is the one I saw at a “classic” dealer, then the speedo drive is dangerously fitted.
Cable should not be going vertical. Check that drive is engaged correctly onto wheel. Cable should leave horizontally to the rear
well spotted ^ locator peg missing maybe, wonder how long the cable is? maybe an incorrect shorter one fitted at some point hence position maybe.
Yes the MOT chap picked that up so it’s in getting sorted this week. Along with a new Regulator Rectifier…
I look at that Cheltenham dealer's website quite regularly, if only to get my eyes tested at some of the prices of those Vincents I was seriously considering buying that 900SS. Enjoy it.
Took the SS out yesterday for its first real run since I bought it. This week I had the belts, plugs (they weren’t matching brands for some reason), oils filters brake pads, regulator rectifier and that speedo cable done. It seemed to ride well, I think it’ll need a good few runs to settle it in as it’s been stood for a fair amount of time. It did seemingly leak brake fluid onto the rear hugger from the rear brake res but no idea why?? Here’s a pic from yesterday at Box Hill.
i'm sure you will find the source, as it's a new bike to you then could be simply slightly overfilled but could also be first signs of slave weeping, which is common.
