V4 Pp Ecu Update

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Jason T, Oct 28, 2022.

  1. My ducati app has bought up something about an ecu update required for my PP. Anyone know what the update is for?

  2. When was it last serviced?

  3. It's an update to some of the engine management strategies. The update has only been published in the last few days.

  4. Same on my V4s - just popped. Wonder what are the chances of getting the extended cylinder deactivation from the Rally as a patch...

  5. On its run in service at end of July

  6. Showing for me too

  7. I reckon it is this. Did anyone notice the new Diavel V4 has the extended deactivation too?

  8. Me too, so what happens now?
How long will it take to upload?
Do we ask the dealer to book us in or will they call?

  9. I haven't loaded the Ducati app. There are a few to choose from. Is it "My Ducati" lifestyle ?

  10. It is

  11. Yes, I noticed this as well, and yes, my guess is the 21/22 V4 multi will get the software upgrade to but I want to know if we can turn it off if we don't like it. Does anyone know if the owner's manual for the new rally been made available online yet??

Mine is showing ECU software update, campaign CR240, NHTSA ID OOV-OO1
Is that what everyone else is referring to

  12. What does that do then?

  13. Extended cylinder deactivation? If I wanted that, I’d have kept the 1260!

  14. Wondered the same and found this:

"........ It switches off the rear cylinder at idle with the motorcycle stationary, a feature that the standard V4 already comes with, but on the Rally, turning the thing off will be possible while on the move as well, and that is something that’s available “for the first time on a production motorcycle.”

Additionally, the cylinder remains deactivated in “other operating conditions to the benefit of fuel consumption and emissions,” and gets back moving “as speed increases or above a certain power request from the throttle grip.”

  15. Yeah, basically rather than going to 2 cylinders just at standstill (like it does currently), it also drops to 2 cylinders when the load on the engine isn't sufficient to need all 4 cylinders. I'm really interested to see what it does for the range of the V4. Can't see a downside, people say on the Rally that the activation is so smooth you barely notice and it just comes in when you are just cruising around. Seems a win-win

  16. My Audi A3 had this and I couldn’t tell when it went from 4 to 2 and back but the dash told me when it did.

  17. I've had the update since Saturday. No noticable cylinder deactivation change while riding up the freeway home.

  18. How long did the update take?

  19. It was less than 10 minutes to process the update. I think it took them longer to remove the seat and hook up the cables than the actual amount of time it was connected

  20. I have read elsewhere it’s just an update to the injectors.
