Washing the new to me hyper 950 and I noticed that the chain guard is squint (see photo) and when I touched it it seems loose flopping in and out (sorry can’t attach a video) Can anyone check theirs and see if yours is similar?? Or anyone know how this is mounted? Might just need tightened up
Thanks for that-are they easy to get to without disassembling anything?? So I can check the bolts are present and tight? Is it all one part with the lower chain guide as per my photo?
Ducati 950 RVE parts list here, https://downloads.ctfassets.net/oif...a2cce2d/SPC_-_HYPERMOTARD_950_-_EN_-_MY22.pdf. Had a look at a couple of model years and there are 2 different chain guards. My guess is yours is the later version. Andy
Andy thanks for the link-I think by the movement of the guard one of the bolts (no 18) is either loose/missing or the the tabs have popped out from underneath…..I’ll have a look tomorrow!
I think they generally tend to be a bit 'floppy'. My '15 821 Hyper was the same, albeit a slightly different design.
Yeah I’m a bit disappointed as I checked today and all the bolts are in place and tight……seemingly it must just flap about……..I’ll need to go into the showroom and have a wiggle of a new Hyper and see what it feels like!!
I fitted a shorter and less flexible carbon jobbie a couple of years ago as the stock one annoyed me for the reasons above, it’s rare that I consider carbon anything an upgrade but in this case it worked out well
There seems to be an update ‘22 version. old:1st pic New: 2nd pic. You need to order: 44610582A chain guard 44712471A upper chain sliding shoe. The Update has another fixing point in the swingarm. Chain slider exits of two parts, and its strengthened, 100% better.
Verry floppy for my 950 2019 to. I ordered the short carbon one https://www.maxicarbon.com/item/duh691m/ You have to trim down the original one, and glue the carbon peace on.. Much better now
