Evening in London yesterday, had a few drinks, then went to Hawksmoor for steak, followed by drinks at Galvins.
Visited an electric Tram car museum with the two little grandsons and family this afternoon,..Zzzzz,..Zzzzz The afternoon consisted of a painfully slow ride in 5 different electric Trams, up and down a 300 metre uphill “C” shaped track, then Bert the driver had to get out at each end to swivel around the electric contact pole thingy which took a good 5 minutes each end…. By the second tram my 2 minute attention span had been exhausted and I was bored shitless of listening to Bert drone on about “ drop bed chassis “ and “independent bogeys “ so I jumped ship and sat on a bench with my earbuds in,….bad grandad ! In all honesty I’d rather shove wasps up my arse than ride on em again ……………what’s wrong with me eh???
Managed the loft this morning but over did it getting 748R bits down for MR next week. Decided a comfy chair is a good idea for a while. Sat here, I thought I’d look at a few venues where I could celebrate my 70th (only 14 months now). First up, Raymond Blanc’s, Le Manoir …………. a twin bed room for one night, accommodation only, STARTS from £1500 I can get 4 nights in my favourite hotel in Barcelona for that, all in. Hey, ho …… back to my search Andy
Chauffeur arrived at 0750 to take me to golf…managed 12 holes until the wind picked up to 20mph and the rain came in…and managed a respectable better-ball pairs score of 44 points. Bet we still don’t make top 10!!
There’s no more mystery left in the world for grumpy grandad, luckily his grandchildren still retain that wonder. Poor Bert has to recite that script every shift………
I watched the London to Brighton today for 40 odd minutes in the pouring rain at Merstham and then jumped into a course car stopping on the way for breakdowns etc, getting into the enclosure tent at the finsh line, it was the first time for me, with bright weather at Brighton what a shame for all the competitors they got wet through. I've not seen or heard the Motogp results as yet, so i'll keep a very low profile until the morning for the reruns.
Took my niece’s motorbike mad little boy to see my bikes in storage. He loved it and knew exactly what to do when revving the bikes.
Took youngest to football, got soaked. Took him in Eldest's mini (haven’t driven it since eldest passed his test) but can’t throw it about because it’s now got a box fitted to monitor driving for his insurance
Took my grandson to Chelsea v Arsenal today, got soaked on the way there, got soaked on the way back, good old Dainese gear never let us down. Shit result for us, a couple of pints and a pub roast made it better.
Watched all the Moto GP races, took my daughter back to uni in Brighton, terrible driving conditions but a decent enough round trip. Home in time for a lovely roast dinner.
