Can’t see any second hand ones at all. Laguna advertise but when you click through its forward orders only.

 

There was at least one guy optimistically posting an add on Autotrader, wanted 30k for one with 2k miles and touring pack, so more than a new one of the same spec. It's disappeared again at the moment but they were putting it in Multistrada unspecified.

 

I believe Honda are now only building to order and Triumph dealers get limited stock next year which they have to order now and once it’s gone that’s it.
We are moving into very different times.

 

Before delivery, the dealer offered to put me in touch with someone that would give me 2k to give my bike up.

It was a firm no!

 

Dealers are likely to lose their franchise for doing that.

 

The dealer wasn’t taking the money. The customer was going to pay me directly.

 

Ducati Italy take a dim view of people selling their place in the queue.

I know Estate agents are required by law to pass on all offers on a property to a seller, didn’t think that applied to motorcycled dealers. Sound seriously dodgy to me. Andy

 

And not restricted to Ducati, the car market is rife with it. I remember many years ago, I enquired about buying a new Ferrari. “Does sir already own one ? No, then I cannot help you”. As you say, trying to control the market. Andy

 

Yup, 'prestige ' car market much worse.......just try and buy a gt3 or similar if you have 'only' owned a £100k 'standard ' 911

 

I can't see what they could have done, the transaction would have been between graham and the buyer.

 

I suspect, Ducati would expect to see a formal cancellation of order which would make the dealer complicit in an underhand deal. Andy

 

Ducati Italy know who the buyer should be. They could cancel the order.
