V4 Thinking Of Selling

Discussion in 'Panigale' started by Fairy Cringe, Nov 13, 2022.

  1. Definitely not decided but it’s crossed my mind. What do we think I should pitch it at.
2018 V4S track bike. I can honestly say I’ve never seen a nicer, more pampered example. I’ve spent shit tons on it which of course you don’t get back (not all of it anyway).
I might stick it on Collecting Cars with a reserve. I can not be arsed with eBay and all the messers. Bike is split mint and stands me at ~£35k. 2000 miles, 1200 of which on track.

  2. Depends how quick you want to sell. I know of a 2020 V4 with a build cost of £42k sell for £26k recently as the market for such a bike is going to be limited, especially in the current climate.

Putting the bike back to standard and selling the track parts would be the way to yield the best return.

  3. I don’t doubt that kind of financial hit. Certainly not in a rush. I built it as a track bike and I intend selling it as such. I so can’t be arsed rebuilding back to standard, plus I don’t have the time.
Definitely a thin market audience right now but you’d be surprised. Current financial climate and all that, there’s still plenty of dough out there.

  6. It'll take you a weekend to oem it Fairy. The new parts will sell on here easily. You'd be foolish not to. Unless, of course, you get lucky.

  9. I’m with you, there seems to be plenty of money around if you don’t take notice of the news.

  11. An A45 AMG probably. For the wife of course… ahem….

  12. I’m looking at the timing boards in Jerez right now. A few mates are there. Glorious sunshine for a change (at this time of year). I might do another Euro gig next year, see how I get on…

  13. Good luck with that, the market place is awash with first generation Panigale V4’s. A while back, when a few dealers were desperate for stock and advertised for bikes, not one had the decency to reply to my query. The majority of the kit I bought for it has now gone, (shameless plug for Spider rear sets and spare tank :D) but the bike is still sat in my utility room. £40k is just a drop in the ocean, that’s the price of mine, new without all the bling I had fitted. 18. Seems a lot for a Speciale before you added all the bits to it Andy. I thought they sold for around £34K in 2018/2019 off the showroom floor.

  19. Adding the mag alloy wheel option took it to over £38k. I might have used a little licence :D Andy

  20. Tend to agree with others FC, regarding returning it to stock. I'm not sure, unless the new owner wants to track the bike, that it won't limit your market by leaving it set up as is. You'll definitely recoup some of your costs on the extras and a good clean stock bike is likely to appeal to a wider audience. It's a PIA to have to revert back, but probably worth the effort. With the recent championship title sewn up in WSBK, that might also draw prospective buyers over to the brand.

If you do end up purchasing another bike, the new Aprilia RSV4 'TrentaX' seems like it may well be an absolute weapon. (which it should be for £43K)
